Republican Leadership Is A Threat To America

United States District Court Judge Brantley Starr of the Northern District of Texas on Monday ordered three Southwest Airlines attorneys to attend "religious-liberty training" through the Alliance Defending Freedom, which is designated as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Starr was nominated by former President Donald Trump in 2019 and confirmed to the federal bench in a 51-39 party-line vote by the then-Republican-controlled Senate.

Pornography itself as entertainment is not necessarily essential for living, but prurient interest is part of society as sexuality is a part of humanity.

Suppression just makes things worse. Outlets will be found no matter how they try to block shit and that's how black market stuff starts.

There's a reason for separation of church and state. Nothing good is coming from this.
I would support taxing religious people as the “super evangelicals” sit back and talk a game as the “sheep” brainlessly follow them and give, give, give buying their way to heaven. Make the preachers and church estates pay their fair share of taxes. 🤢🤢🤮 Also how will religious doctrines cope with the fact that aliens are real? Think religion will implode?

he ruins everything. every. fucking. thing.
The initials DT. Damien Thorn in The Omen, and a former US President. The latter has the evangelicals eating out of his hand, and will ruin them of course, if he hasn't already.

I also don't believe it a coincidence or accident that when he got police to tear gas peaceful protestors a few years back, he held the Bible upside down during a publicity stunt.

Well the original premise of this thread was that the Republican Leadership Is A Threat To America.

And sad to say, I have to agree. The RINO's like McConnell and McCarthy are leading the GOP in the Senate and the House, and they ARE RINO's. They need to be tossed into the gutter and replaced by real Republicans who can drive an agenda through that real Republicans support, and who can clean out the shit from the Augean stables that are the US Federal Government departments and agencies, starting by shutting down completely half a dozen ff the worst offending agencies and firing everyone working for them. Cut them off from the taxpayers teats and let them find real work. Musk proved with Twitter than you can cut 90% of the workers and do a better job. We need to do the same with the government.

The current Republican leadership is just not up to the job. They're part if the Uniparty, leaches on the Republic, and along with the Democrats, a big part of what has gone wrong with America. Time to throw them all out and get some real leadership in place.

^That's part of the cycle of any nation. The ruling class becomes greedy, arrogant, incompetent, and senile over decades. Crises accumulate and escalate. The ruling class loses power and wealth. A new ruling class rises and does what it can to repair the damage. The crisis phase may include war. The parties may realign and toss all the old loyalties, demographics, and platforms, if they survive.

LOL funny how you miss the answer to "what has gone wrong". It's not the politicians spouting the far right bullshit that people like you enjoy, no the problem is people like you electing them to office.

That is what has gone wrong, and your a voter for that.

*chuckles*

This is incorrect.

Twitter, or "X" as he would like you to call it now, has been objectively performing worse under his control. Outside of the company's office/corporate culture bad press, he has lost a significant amount of advertisers and has had to rely on a succession of multiple haphazardly constructed monetizing schemes in order to stop the bleeding and bridge the widening gap. All these schemes have either failed or are currently failing.

the app itself? Yeah, that still functions on its basic level, but it's definitely not better than it was before him. It's overall functionality has been going down the tubes because the people he cuts actually maintain quality. We're not even going to touch the excoriation he received when he rebranded it into "X" in order to absorb it into his vision of a "unified everything app."

This thread here is serving as a de facto ongoing chronological account of its downward slide since Musk's takeover last year:

It's "Twitter Freedom Friday!"

But also, the Democrats back the same capitalist system. That's also a big problem. Congressional Democrats attempt to appease the conservatives, over recent decades, or back off from them. Even when Democrats control both houses, the filibuster ruins things, and so many Democratic politicians support the filibuster. They fear mass change.

I fear transactional change. Our country is not a few months old. Drastic changes result in instability. No one should aim for changes that disrupt decades of stability.

Elon Musk rebranding Twitter as "X" has been a complete joke. Didn't Musk try the "X" branding about 20 years ago with PayPal, until he lost a power struggle there to Peter Thiel? "X" branding seems to be a fixation for him.

Trumpism was/is only possible because of the "swamp" stitch up, the rigged system. That is causing huge instability as it is. Robert Kennedy Jr. is the Democratic version of Donald Trump, and if the system weren't rigged in 2024, he'd beat Biden in the primaries, unless there's the 2024 equivalent of "rally round the flag" regarding Ukraine, which saved Jimmy Carter from Ted Kennedy in 1980 regarding Iran just long enough for Carter to win vital primaries. Once people turned on Carter again, it was too late for Ted Kennedy.

Trump on the Republican side, and Sanders/RFK Jr. on the Democratic side, are getting support from people who are saying "We hate the ways things are done at present, and we want it smashed". The system's supporters, from RINO Reaganesque Republicans, to corporate Democrats, to DINOs like Joe Manchin, are exacerbating the crisis. They are the modern day equivalents of Franklin Pierce and James Buchanan.

It is not a which "political party backs the capitalist problem". If everyone stopped consuming, there would be no problem, be it a Capitalistic Society, or a Communist Society or any other system of Society.

Uncontrolled consumption is the problem, and since the people control the Government ( in a free and fair Democracy) through the tools of Elections, the people then are responsible for Government not reigning in the consumption. .

Trump wasn't possible because of the 'swamp', he invented the 'swamp'.

He's a pure salesman, of the worst sort. He invents a problem, sells you the only possible solution (his). That doesn't work obviously so it's the opposition's fault for rigging everything against him, when the truth is pointed out it's 'fake news', yada yada. At the end of the day the technical team is blamed for failing to deliver the impossible and he walks away with his commission from the sale whilst the company fights bankruptcy.

And the duped customer follows him to his next employer.
