Conservative influencers have set their sights on birth control amid the GOP's continued to push to curtail reproductive freedoms

WHEN THE SUPREME Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June of 2022 — destroying the constitutional right to abortion access — conservative Justice Clarence Thomas wrote in his concurring opinion that the court should also reconsider previous rulings that established the right to contraception. Less than a month later, all but 10 House Republicans voted against a proposed bill that would have enshrined access to birth controlinto law. Senate Republicans didn’t support the legislation, either. If it wasn’t clear then that conservatives might move to restrict access to contraception, it is now.

On Thursday, right-wing activist Chris Rufo — the man largely responsible for engineering widespread conservative moral panic about “critical race theory” and so-called “woke” politics — responded to an X, formerly Twitter, post from writer Michael Shermer highlighting Republican opposition to contraception. Shermer’s post quoted a 2023 video from the Heritage Foundation, a right-wing think tank, that said “conservatives have to lead the way in restoring sex to its true purpose, and ending recreational sex and senseless use of birth control pills.”

  • The time period of underage sex trafficking was during the Bush administration! Nothing tied to anything under Biden's control.

Former Rep. Joe Harding (R-Williston), who plead guilty in March to one count each of wire fraud, money laundering and making false statements as part of a scheme to fraudulently obtain a $150,000 federal Covid-19 relief loan, was sentenced to four months in prison.

can someone tell me why this fraud—the deliberate stealing of taxpayers' money by an elected official who, by his very position has trust placed in him by the public—should only receive 4 months inside and 2 years' supervised release?

“The theft of any amount of taxpayer funds is inexcusable,” said Jason Coody, the United States attorney for the Northern District of Florida, in a statement. “However, the defendant’s deceptive acts of diverting emergency financial assistance from small businesses during the pandemic is simply beyond the pale."

they (republican 'movers and shakers' aka 'complainers and whiners') rely upon the unwillingness, the gullibility of their base, to even consider questioning what they put forth and its context. They hand-feed them bloody scraps of raw meat mixed with fillers, additives, and spiked with the kinds of preservatives banned in most first world countries. And their base gobbles it up, addicted and addled, drooling for more more more.

now if Britt was ignorant of the actual facts and just went along with delivering the speech as she was coached to, then she is just as much to blame for her own willful negligence, a lack of making sure she was telling the truth to an audience broader than just America.
if she knew the scraps of truth were unrelated in anyway to President Biden, and yet willingly presented them in such a compromised manner, then she is no doubt a reflection of the poisoned gop today.

not only did the sexual exploitation happen in Mexico, there was no claims it was linked to drug cartels (though it may have been), and the customers were mainly 'foreigners' looking for the underage experience. I don't think anyone would be surprised if the majority of those came across the border FROM America INTO Mexico.

likewise, a lot of fentanyl smuggled into the US across the Mex/US border is done by Americans.

Saw this clip on Kimmel highlighting trump’s overall weirdness. Granted, it’s not expected for most to recognize what’s being sung, but why can’t he clap or do something to acknowledge the performance rather than just standing there awkwardly? But, in the end, true to self, he puckers his lizard lips out to kiss the woman.
