I really don’t understand the point you’re trying to make here. Fascists want authoritarian control and it’s convenient for republicans to fluctuate from declaring corporations as people to gain that power just as well for them to then attack Disney or Budweiser to retain it. Despite having “socialist” in their name, the Nazis weren’t socialist. It was just marketing, like when communist dictatorships called themselves “Democratic Republics”.

Exploitative capitalist enterprises can thrive under fascist regimes so long as they toe the party line. For example DeSantatis attempting to punished Disney for their commitment to diversity is a fascist move.

Fascism also entails ultranationalism—waving the flag all the time. And militarism—dressing up like soldiers and carrying guns everywhere. Also Racism and sexism, and a fanatical devotion to a charismatic leader.

I’m not a saying ALL Republicans are traitors, but they certainly bear the stain of supporting the ones who are.

If I were a conservative Republican, and a true American patriot who knows history, I would be fucking incensed to have a Nazi flag next to me much less have politicians talk about banning books!

There are plenty of people who attack all day, all over the internet. I would get bored with marching in that parade. As a former dues-paying Green, I lean towards the Republicans now because they are currently ahead on the issues that matter to me: war and military spending (less, please), global trade (also less, to rebuild local economy), environment (less global trade again), medical liberty, and even LGBT issues. Yes, conversion therapy is horrible, but pushing kids into transgender operations and hormones is more horrible.

The aim of fascism is the liquidation of the organized labor movement, either driving it underground or smashing it into little tiny pieces, and then perhaps replacing it with something like the Nazi "Strength Through Joy".

Banning "misinformation" is a first step towards dictatorship. That is partly why I am so dismissive of Dems claiming to be anti-fascist, anti-Nazi, etc. But I'm still not particularly worried about that. There is too much dissent and skepticism across the nation to let censorship get that far. There has been plenty of damage already, with civil war still a possibility, but the future here looks better than some other nations where the censorship and damage are much more severe.

Remember those who became the Democrats of old knew that slaves could be controlled by fear, destruction of the family unit, no education, no religion and no free speech. More generally, the Fascists and Nazis started with positions that seemed sensible and necessary to the majorities of Italy and Germany. Whatever most people wanted is what they sold.
