I've been amiss in returning to Rick's. End of quarter, state testing, general laziness, next thing you know it's been two weeks.

Any ladies want to punish me? ( I gotta watch what I say, too many people think Subo means submissive as it is, but I've never gone wrong putting myself into the hands of our Roofettes)

Spring has indeed sprung!

Turk, some hard lemonade please, I'm on Spring break, ten days of rest, recuperation, reflection, and recreation, with just a tad bit of research. I'm going to teach a unit on the human impact on Oceania and visa versa. Anyone want to spend some time seeking pleasure in a tropical island paradise? I'll be on the balcony with my tickets to pag pago.

Good Friday?

Turk, a tall cold one please. I have some stress to dispel.

We had a code red lock down today for an hour and a half. Thankfully when it was all over the threat was not imminent, but for an hour I was in the dark, almost literally. I locked my door, put the kids in a corner and turned off the lights. After I told them it was no drill, most of them were quiet and subdued. It was hard for some of them, particularly some of my ADHD kids. some complained they were bored. I reassured them excitement was the last thing they wanted. As it turned out, the lockdown was because the police were chasing a suspect in the area, not because of anything life threatening on campus. In the end, it was something to laugh off, thank God, but that was not obvious for a while.

Oh, by the way, I had a personal first today. I was in a bank robbery. The guy who stood in line behind me proceeded to his teller and told her he's shoot her if she didn't provide money. She wisely did so and he left without hurting anybody but it was a bit of a rush. Following that, I got locked in for the second straight day until the police came and got all our statements. Almost makes a man miss the big city.

We get all the actions we need from our weather girls. It is a weird climate .. I used my tan bed 10 days ago when it was almost 75 outside but nature took its revenge last night when it was 25. I hope the flowers and the trees survived that punch.

I've been busy with the end of year push and haven't had much time to socialize. Threw a luau for some high achievers on our unit on Polynesia. No roast pig, though. i get a week off, then six weeks of summer school. You don't think I'm addicted, do you?

(Actully, I start summer school next week, but let's not spoil my illusions today )
