rude feedback

Love the trolls.

My first story posted yesterday in the Loving Wives category. Much to the dismay of the trolls, I have disabled Public Comments and Voting.

I received an anonymous email from a troll with an obviously phony address. He said that he would have voted my story a 5 if I would have called the police and had everybody arrested. But since I failed to do that, he would have only voted it 4.5.

How do you vote a 4.5?

Trolls are obviously perceiving the world differently than the rest of us and I am still laughing.

*snort* :D
Did he say what he planned to have them arrested for?

Ah, dear trolls. What would we do for a giggle without them?

Rape!

What a fumb ducker!

I love how most trolls who make this kind of comment are FINE getting rock-hard over a rape, gangbang, or any other sex that hints of non-consent (like with intoxication)...as long as there is a continuing narrative of heightened violence.

Like, it's fine for them to fuck your wife and humiliate her, as long as you then go raging after the culprits and beat them to a bloody pulp. No bloody beating? Oh well now, you're the sicko...

I find there are three major divisions of trolls. Those who are unable to get it up without 400 viagra pills, then can't get off. To them the obvious problem is my story.

The second division, are those trolls who read your story, jack off, then bitch because you write such filth :rolleyes:

The third division, read your story, jack off then bitch because the story wasn't what they expected. Are we supposed to put out a public questionaire before we write?:rolleyes::rolleyes:

All three divisions are total morons and I pay them no mind.

There is a forth type that hates to see any story on top of a category for more than say twenty minutes........

Then there is the worst of the lot, the troll who is also a writer and wants to be the top dog in whatever category they have a hight scoring story in... this also includes their alts and henchmen, I'm afraid.....

and the list goes on..... ;) :D

LOL Loving Wives Category!

I think that category is unique beyond all others.

I too posted a story in loving wives just a few days ago, and within 24 hours had nearly 75 comments and my email box (free email) had over flown so badly that all my older emails had been deleted.

In comments, and in emails sent to me from the site, I was called everything from a lez-dyke man-hating bitch to… I was threatened with murder, being beaten to a pulp and rape.

Some of the comments came from anonymous posters; many came from registered users and authors. With of some the negative remarks being obviously not contextual, but rather I dared to have a female character that was not submissive.

Loving wives is definitely a category of strong male emotions and cannot be compared with others. I think it’s very hard to get a true rating on any story posted in loving wives.

Oh, and I really don't care for ratings. I write about persons and events, how I want to write about them and how I see them. How many people have read my stories is far more important than simple meaningless comments.

Real & helpful comments, now that is something else. There I recieved multiple emails from many very good Lit authors pointing out my good and bad writing skills... very helpful and enjoyable people.

So far I have one story posted and one pending. All of my comments and feedback were very positive. After reading the bulletin board, I feel almost insulted that I didn't get negative feedback, it seems that's how you know you did a good job.

I totally agree

I absolutely agree. People who leave nasty flaming feedback and sign it 'anonymous' should be banned or something.

I have gotten a few "anonymous" feedbacks from the current novel/novella I am posting, 'A Chance To Love'. I have no problem accepting criticism, but when someone doesn't have the balls to leave an email address or even a username, it really bites. I know I'm not the best write out there and yes, maybe the story needs work, but at least I had the balls to put it out there for others to read. I've always been told 'if you can't say something nice, don't say anythind at all.'

And anyway, isn't it better to not say anything at all and appear stupid than open your mouth and remove all doubt.

This has me thinking . . . .

What elements to a LW story would REALLY get the trolls riled up? I'd love to write the most troll-bating story and watch the comments roll in.

Hmm . . . strong female character -- check

Wimp husband who cries about his wife cheating on him -- check

Some kind of sappy 'I did it for you' ending -- check

Anything else?

Maybe a husband that blames himself for her cheating even though he has no reason to?

Can I borrow this?

Just check my story "Something We Have to Talk About". 139 comments so far, my mail box has flood twice already, I was pressured into writing a sequel, others have written, or are writng sequels...

I've been flamed so many times, it's impossible to count them all! At times webbie has had to go in and delete comments because they were just simply too nasty and vile.

Trolls included anons and even regs. LW is a powder keg of emotions.

Trolls, regular members, whatever...

Writing is an artistic pursuit, and will always draw criticism from those who are exposed to its end result. As an artist, your responsibility (to yourself first and your readers a distant second) is to accept the criticism you think will help improve your work and reject any that you feel will not. The odds are good that anyone who includes in their criticism name-calling, personal insults, death threats, etc. will not have anything valuable to add to your knowledge of the craft of creative writing anyway, so you should just ignore them. If you really want to get back at trolls and other discourteous critics, the best revenge is success. Win some contests, get published, sell a screenplay, etc. Once you have reached a level of achievement that you personally feel constitutes "success", you will look back and realize that if you had spent all of your time worrying about and responding to your detractors, you would still be trying to get where you are.

That dang troll. . .

That dang ugly uneducated troll, get more recognition around here then some of the best writers I know. But then again, life would not be exciting without something bugging you now and then. I like the message posted below, it mad me laugh.

We all get them. There is a juvenile, sub-culture of retards who cruise Lit with the sole purpose of making nasty "Anonymous" comments on stories. These "Trolls" don't seem to write or post stories on Lit, most likely cannot write, and seem to read on a third grade level (most likely rode the "short bus" to school).

I myself was tired of reading rude comments on mine and other writers story. SO,I sat down and wrote something about the Literotica troll. A few friends of mine thought it was halarious. Then I pause for a moment and wondered, he won't know I even wrote it because the little booger cannot read. LOL!

I have learned to just ignore him, as for hubby, he loves to take potshots at him. :rose:   Kandie.

What is up with some of the pathetic people that respond with vulgar and rude comments and only do it as "anonymous"? I mean if you have something to say, don't hide behind anonymous, leave an email address and have a discussion about it. I can take criticism and no one needs to like or approve of how I live my life, but at least have the balls to have a discussion about it.

sometimes it is the only thing people know. make someone feel bad to make yourself feel good. i have never understood it myself but what can you do. man and some women are very piculiar beasts :rose:

The trolls as you call them use to bother me, until one day I got a comment or email stating that I "should give up writing, because I would never make it in the real world." The troll said a few other things, but that was the jist of it.

It was the best thing that was ever said because in real life I am a published author in regards to non-fiction in a few magazines and newspapers. The comment was just so rude and completely opposite of the truth that it suddenly dawned on me, these trolls only say nasty things because they can, they certainly do not know how to write, understand the true workings of an author or even understand what true critique is.

Now I am not trying to brag about my writing accomplishments here, but professionalists in the writing realm have cut me checks for writing, why should I care about unschooled, unprofessional and unfounded trolls. The point is, neither should any other writer of literotica.

I’m agreeing with DonFox.

When I look back and study the response I’ve gotten off of my one little LW story, it’s amazing. With over 22,000 reads, 137 comments and over 170 votes in one week’s time, that says more than anything any troll can say.

Then if I consider how many emails I have received, how many regulars, writers who have been writing in that genre for years have written me, giving me critique, but also telling me to ignore the trolls, and keep on writing. They enjoy my writing, my story. When a writer with over 20 or 30 stories says in an email, “I’m jealous of your talent,” true or not, that puts all the troll comments and emails on self-destruction.

Knowing that you can write, sure of your writing skills, makes troll comments only so much background noise. It’s like being a kindergarten teacher then. You learn to filter out all the normal unnecessary and usual child noises, only sub-consciously aware of them, and ready for the unusual if and when it happens.
