Idk if these screen shots will help or not. I don't tend to post a lot of video clips, but when I have, this pathway has worked for me.
You can just paste a url into the field, but the site seems most likely to cooperate when you use the hyperlinks (like I highlighted in the 2nd pic) and navigate to your gif/vid and grab the link that way.

I'm sure there are other users on this board who have more experience, more tips on how to have success with this than me.
