Day 29: A movie you haven't seen yet but really want to

I have been told several times by someone that I respect deeply that I should watch Adaptation. I read The Orchid Thief many years ago, so I am not opposed to it, but I have difficulties with Nicolas Cage films after he became self-aware of playing the part of "Nicolas Cage." But I shall watch it. Probably. Someday. I promise.

Day 28: Best movie from a genre you usually don't like

Hot take. Iโ€™ve said I donโ€™t love animated movies and more than that I really dislike stop motion animation.

I DO however love Ray Harryhausen and heโ€™s the only person in the history of cinema to use the technique perfectly.

You are right, he did it perfectly.

I saw The Fall has been added to Mubi so I have to sign up for that too cos I've been wanting to watch this one since back in my Tumblr days. Lee Pace is 6'5" is all I'm saying. But seriously, I've heard great things about it and aesthetically, it appears to be quite striking.

This is on my list as well.

I've heard good things. Might give it a go.

Citizen Kane (1941)

if you are a cinephile or even just appreciate the genre and art of film this is a must see. it inspired so many film makers and directors and is widely considered the greatest film ever made for a reason.

That's what I heard. I'm putting it in my queue. ๐Ÿ˜

Even with the twist being widely known, and a punch line, it is still an incredibly well-made film. I didn't think I would love it as much as I did when I first saw it. Wells is such a genius, though it isn't my favorite film, or even film of his, but it is such a work of art.

I've heard terrible things. Horrible things. The absolute worst of the worst most dreadful things.
I need to see for myself just how bad it really is.
I just haven't yet.

I think about this often, then I think about Marc Maron saying โ€œI donโ€™t know how much time I got left.โ€

Iโ€™ve never seen Downfall, just various parodies of this scene. As a history dad I feel like this is a gap.

I need to rewatch this to get an actual opinion on it. It was part of film class in high school and it was, well is, impossible for me to enjoy anything I'm forced to consume. Doubly so when I was a teenager.

๐Ÿ’€ I don't know what I just watched but I need to find the whole thing ๐Ÿคฃ Poor Ryanair. But that's what happens when you spend money on a funny social media manager instead of almost anything else.
