Sev's Masked Ball.

"Thank you. I am Severus Maximus, better known as Severusmax, Severus, or merely Sev. I hope that you enjoy the festivities so far. Every day in my house is Halloween, in a manner of speaking. I love to throw masques, as you can see and even have people just visit in costume. I don't even mind people crashing here if I like them enough, at least not for the night."

"Excuse me, as host, I have to greet the newest guest," I excuse myself to meet Fleshy Nuts. She might smell of brimstone, but unpleasant as that is, she is still a guest. As host, I need to make myself known to all of my guests as much as possible.

"Your hospitality is greatly appreciated."

*Zorro is gone in an instant, moving off into the crowd. A hint of something burning wafts through the air, but is muted behind his mask. It is another familiar smell, but he can't place it right away.*

As their host moved off to welcome his varied guests, the angel wandered off to admire the art and eventually to sit on the edge of a small fountain. She had felt the arrival of the succubus. She always did. Probably always would.

Looking around she let her gaze wander over the demoness, sorrowful for the way things were, and then on to each of her friends in turn. It was good to see them all again. Even fr33k had turned up. She was certain that several others would as well, eventually.

Idly she let her fingers play in the water while she hid behind her flowing lavender curls.

*He caught sight of her again, looking sullen and lonely. He couldn't see it, but the features of his mask shifted, contorting into a different Oni. He stood silently beside her, simply watching for the moment.*

She smiled as she felt more than saw fr33k come up beside her. It was a soft smile, a sad smile. Without giving any outward indication that she knew he was there she spoke, seemingly to her fingers in the water, "you always were a vigilant friend, noticing every nuance of mood and adjusting accordingly."

Her free hand smoothed out the fabric of her ecru colored gown along her thigh, covering the lavendar touille that peeked out. She wasn't even sure he'd heard her over the fountain, music, and conversation. It was fr33k though, so he probably had.

"It comes with being such a studious people-watcher. It seems you need a distraction, something to take your mind of of whatever's troubling you. Would you care to dance?"

*One hand tilted the Oni mask up and to the side, revealing his face, while the other extended to take her hand if she felt up to it.*

With a soft chuckle she turned to look at him, a smirk decorating her angelic features. "I think it far more complicated than that, Fr33k. But, yes, i would love to dance."

Placing her hand lightly in his she stood and offered him a small curtsey before letting him lead her to the dance floor.

I could feel my lips twitch in amusement. I shot him a look without turning my head before I lowered my glass and simply held it in my hand. Taking my sweet time in answering him. My eyes skimmed over the growing crowd before they came back to rest on my current companion. A small shrug of shoulders.

"Perhaps. What brought you to the ball aside from an invitation?"

She had brought him here. In more ways than one. He was drawn to her from the first moment he laid eyes upon that black clad figure, adorned with red marvels. It only helped that she was looking at him the way she did, even if it was subtle, those green eyes were yearning to explore him. It didn't matter to him who she was here with, or who she was expecting. He wanted her. And he was going to have her. He grinned at her shrug and spoke, eying the various people in the ballroom.

"Well, it looks like whoever you are expecting hasn't shown up yet."

Not that it mattered if that person did show up. Not to him.

"What brought me to the ball? The mystery, the intrigue of walking into a room full of strangers of course. And interacting with their mysterious faces. Until the masks come off."

His eyes lingered on her for a moment as his head turned towards her, then scanned the room again as he took a sip.

"Since the one I was semi-expecting hasn't turned up, perhaps you would care to dance, Sir?"

*He didn't utter another word, simply guided her out into the throng of masked guests, not stopping until they were thoroughly lost in the crowd. The music started to pick up in tempo, and despite their motions and jostling, his mask remained perched up and to the side on his head, as if it were a bird roosting. He paid it no mind, focusing instead on trying to cheer up Illi, and also to not step on her feet.*

She couldn't help but laugh at the picture he made with his mask perched awkwardly on his head and trying desperately not to step on her toes as they danced. How could she not adore the company of such a friend? He was even kind enough not to stare when her gown was pulled back by the crowd.

While normally the heavy satin fell to resemble a regency era gown, if one pulled the edges of the split in the center just below her bust, it became lavendar touille that was quite see through. She'd tried to pull her wings around her but the crowd was too close to do so safely and she was sure he'd gotten quite the view of her matching lace thong.

She continues to watch the goings on of the room, noticing the new arrivals of familiar faces. All the while her glass of jagermeister refills its self from the bottom up.

Noticing the approach of the evenings host she nods ever so slightly in his direction

Hello...I am Tina.

There is a smokey quality to her voice when she speaks, and an all too knowing smile playing at her lips.

While not ignoring her host her eyes never stop moving and drawing back to rest on the angel. Watching the angel dance she shakes her head and chuckles slightly at the sight of the thong. "I have taught you well little girl...."

*One brow quirked just slightly, and only for a moment before he swept her around and away from the heaviest of the crowd's crushing nature. A smile couldn't be kept from his lips, noting the slight blush her cheeks had taken on.*

"Quite an interesting design for a dress. Makes for very interesting conversation, what with all the complications one might endure wearing it..."

*Yet again, the Oni mask changed features, innocuously. Instead of the typical snarl, it looked more like laughter. He didn't notice, and neither did she. They were too caught up in the moment.*

She held tightly to him, but only for the moment it took him to sweep her away from the crowd. Once he released her she stepped back a blush still darkening her cheeks. "It..." she pulled the gowns folds back over her body a bit nervously, "it made me feel beautiful when i decided on it. I do hope that no one else saw and shame on you for noting such things aloud, fr33k."

She smacked at his shoulder playfully and giggled. She was not truly upset by his statement, more shy around one whom she'd known for so very long. She'd been relegated to friend for so long that it was odd for her to see him also as a man now. Nervously, her eyes darted to where she knew the demoness watched. Praying that she did not cause a scene amongst their friends.

Hearing the angels thoughts as always, she chuckles again. One would think after this many hundreds of years the little one would know her better. Proper evil is always tempered by elegance and class. Plus it always more fun to play when no one is the wiser.

Thinking this she reaches out mentally and lightly strokes the angels jaw just below her left ear.

Again she chuckles as she watches the reaction.

The party had picked up a little bit after he'd stepped out onto the balcony for a drink. He recognized Fr33k easily enough as he'd entered and, predictably, struck up a conversation with the angel in an attempt to get reacquainted. He nodded as he gave Illi another admiring glance, resisting the urge to lock his eyes onto her ass before he went to find himself another drink. He poured for himself while the bartender was distracted and went to fetch a seat.

Surely that was Mav over there, who'd practically stalked up to Cait. Though behind the mask, he couldn't be entirely certain-there was certainly a twinge of envy, though, as Noon ran his eyes across Cait's outfit. Noon adjusted his mask slightly, and straightened the wrinkles out of his pirate outfit before he sat down, taking a load off of his feet. There was another guest who'd entered, a demoness, and had a very strong theory about who that was...especially as he saw her studying Illi. He kept to himself for the moment, though, sipping on his beverage, resting before he found his next dance partner.

She jumped visibly as she felt the demoness' mental touch. Their eyes met across the room and held for the barest moment before she returned her attention to fr33k.

She smirks at the angel then looks around the room again. Noticing the pirate she raises her glass to him slightly and nods.

Feeling the victorian look has run it's course, she decides to change. The dress smolders then in a flash the dress is replaced by a tight low cut button down white shirt, a tartan skirt that is just long enough, knee highs, and a pair of mary janes. If one were paying attention they would just see the end of her tail as it drew in under the skirt and wrapped around her waist.

Noon saw the demoness acknowledge him, and he nodded back at her as she raised his drink. He raised his back, being friendly, but he didn't bother approaching her to talk. But he did happen to still be looking at her as she made her costume change with a bit of flash and flare. Shaking his head, he took another deep sip of his beverage, holding his mask in place, as he rose and began wandering about among the other party goers once again. He smiled thoughtfully as he began looking for his next dance partner.

Always late to the party, or anywhere for that matter, Lexie steps into the room. Her black dress has a slit on the left side up to her hip, revealing a pair of strappy stilleto sandals wrapped around her calves. The dress is sleeveless and backless, save for the small strip of fabric running across her shoulder blades. Her curly auburn hair cascades down her back. A silver mask covers her face, her green eyes shining. She leans against the wall watching quietly...

Seeing the newcomer, I move over to greet her.

"Fashionably late? Nothing wrong with that. There's no set time. Would you like some food to go with your booze? Anyway, welcome to my masque. I'm Sev."

"Better late than never, I suppose," she says with her Southern drawl. "No food for me, thanks. Quite the soirée you have going on... I look forward to it." She surveys the room with a slight grin.

*The smell of brimstone grows stronger for a second, and he notices Illi's reactions. It's as though she's seen a ghost. Or perhaps heard one.*

"You alright? And do you smell that? Someone must've burned the entrees."

"My pleasure to host it, I assure you," I allow my own West Virginia twang to come out stronger. Sometimes, it pays to be a hillbilly.

"I simply love what masques represent, the mystery, anonymity, the possible seductions of people whom you find appealing, but haven't even seen their face yet. Not to mention the Old World atmosphere it gives them. It's a tradition going back to the Middle Ages."

She smiled at him. "Yes, I am fine, fr33k. Tina has arrived at the ball."

Her head tilted as she studied him. She wondered if he still saw her as the forbidden. Deciding that she'd had enough dancing for the moment she leaned in close to him with one hand on his arm and the other gently resting on his stomach where it fell naturally between them. "I'm a bit overheated. Would you like to step outside with me and get some air?"

"Masques are very good for an air of mystery, I agree," she turned to him acknowledging a fellow Southerner. "They also allow for the loosening of inhibitions and bit of debauchery." Laying a hand on him arm, "So tell me, are you just the master of ceremonies tonight or will you join the festivities?"

"Ah...that's what it is. Brimstone, not charcoal."

*Her body pressed against his. It felt nice to be so close. She had always kept her distance before, fearful of even a fleeting touch. He nodded at her question, starting toward the doors with his arm around her shoulder.*

"Sounds great to me. It is a bit stuffy in here."

"Thank you" she said softly as he led her to a balcony door and they stepped out into the night air.
