Haha the point I was tryyyyying to make (and clearly failed) was that I was trying to *avoid* any association with PokémonYou had me at Pokémon…
They started getting popular when I was in HS, and my dorky little brother was into the cards, Gameboy games and formulaic anime. I was too cool for it at the time, and never really got into it though 
(But I did keep a Butterfree card he gave me back then, because it was uncharacteristically sweet of him.We’re not the same person.
