Shaven Vs. Unshaven Pussy -- Why does it matter?

Really, in the end it doesn't matter because it's all in your head. Or more likely, in his if your with a man. Women are more prone to tantalize more provocatively and a sensual shaved snatch is one great way. Kinda of goes with those long smooth legs...
But to each their own. It's whatever gets you both off the way you want thats important.
Just my own feelings on the subject but I think this thread needs a rest soon.

Welcome to the board silkylegs. LOL, as you only registered in the last 24 hours and all 7 of your posts have been to threads on Literotica dealing with whether people shave their pubic hair or not, I would think it must hold some significant interest for you, just as it does for others. Generally threads have a life of their own, fade when they are no longer posted to, and often revisited at a later date. In the interests of you enjoying your Lit experience to the fullest, I would encourage you to diversify and post to other topics if you feel this one has had it's day. :)

I am turned off by the sight of a completely shaven mons veneris. It gives a woman the appearance of being a prepubescent child. The shaven thing is mostly a white american affectation, so maybe I just don't get it.

would disagree that it's a white american thing....i really don't think the completely bald pussy look is all that common, with blacks or whites or anyone else. i began to sport the bald look when i was 17, one day i was in the shower doing my usual pubic trim-up with the razor, and the razor slipped and i accidentally shaved right down the middle...well of course i had to shave the whole thing or it wouldn't look right. i ended up liking the look and the feel of it, so i just stuck with it. now my Master won't have it any other way (we're both black btw). so in my case it definitely had nothing to do with what was "in" among the popular white culture.

hi my name is kitten

and i'm hairy :(

and i dont want to be
the problem is i got icky ingrown hairs when itried the whole shaving thing and the other methods are either too expensive or unsuitable

i try to keep it as trimmed as possible
suppose it doesnt matter too much not like i'm getting any :(

i like this topic by the way i'm always looking for new methods of temporary removal or tips that might make me take the leap again

i like the sensation i get from the nearly bald look soo i'll keep searching

When I'm feelign particularly broke, I wax myself. It hurts SO much more that way, but I pop painkillers first and keep a vibe handy... and tell myself that its just really fucking painful BDSM. Fyi, professional waxing may not be as expensive as you think... it lasts a while.

Hi..........Hmmmmmm.....

Been lurking my way through this thread for a while, and am just bored enough today to throw in two cents .....and perhaps a helpful suggestion.

I like oral sex . A lot. SO while I don't shave myself (too much negative comment from assorted ladies.) I do trim closely. Personally I use a Wahl electric trimmer. Close enough to feel smooth on the shaft, but not so close as to cause ingrown hairs.

I like a ladies mound smooth, but am not fetishistic about it.
Simply a matter of touch, taste, and sensation.
Things require a lighter touch, and a lighter touch is more well recieved, when you are not dealing with so much underbrush.

On the D/s front, well, I learned to shave. It makes a wonderful intro step or foreplay. Combined with assorted bondage it can be quite........stimulating.

I never made the connection through the bare mound to young girls. Guess my mind just doesn't work that way. The connection I have always made is one I have seen in a book (the title escapes me) that on the whole, people who shave, are vitally interested in sex and sensation.

Ingrown hairs (For tittenkitten and others.).
When I started shaving my face (somewhere back in the stoneage) I had a great deal of trouble with ingrown hairs. Some people just do. I tried all the nifty spiffy razors, two, three, blades all that stuff. All the special shaving creams.
Drove me nuts.
After all the experimentation, I cured the problem by taking a huge step back in time.
I found my fathers old Schick injector razor and started using it mainly out of sentimental perversity. (It is about fifteen years older than I am.) Along with this, I began to use a honest to god shaving mug and brush. With real shaving soap, not bar or liquid washing soap.
Eureka!!! no more broken out face, no more ingrown hairs. Bam, problem solved.
I asked the handy dandy physician why this was.
He told me that the ingrown hairs were simply where you were cutting off the hair below skin level. (the thing that all the new razors advertise as doing)
*Shrug*
So, you have to shave a bit more often, and you might get five o'clock shadow at three. So what. No more bumps.

I have used this combination on a lady friend who has the same problem. Does the trick. But you have to learn a bit more care to use the old style razors.

Welcome to the club.

Besides, i'd prefer to floss at my leisure not while i'm eating.

In disagree with this, especially given the BDSM reference, which indicates considerable assimilation of white american mores. In any event, a relatively small number of people bucking a trend doesn't undermine it.

Why ? the more's question not the trend bucking.

Note - that is a serious question. Not being a smartass.
I am always interested in why people see things in different ways.

I don't believe that it has anything to do with *white america* and more to do with personal choice whether vanilla, black, white or what have you.

Personally, I prefer my pets shaven, period. I am a great fan of cunt smacking and C/B. Hair just ruins the effect. I could see you saying that it is a BDSM affectation, hell I could even see you saying that it is a fetishist thing, but to claim that it has something to do with white america is downright silly and smacks of condescension.

I also don't understand what you mean by this particular statement. I have always believed that BDSM is what the persons involved CHOOSE to make of it. What does assimilation of White American mores have to do with a black couple involved for the long haul in this lifestyle? ( like OSG and her Daddy or Me and my pets.)

Mayhap, I am seeing this wrong...but I would appreciate it if you could explain what white america has to do with the BDSM crowd. It's not like BDSM is a mainstream thing...to say otherwise would be to undermine that thing that makes us special.

By saying that our choices (whether black or white) are brought about by others beliefs concerning accepted behavior is silly. Most of us could give 2 F*CKS bout what others think. If we did, we would not be involved in these practices, these lifestyles, these THINGS.

Just my take on the subject

Might make for an interesting poll.
Shaved
Trimmed
Natural

Now here is something to chew on. Sometimes when I look at pics of shaven women I think they look prepubescent. I am NOT saying that people who prefer the shaved look are closet peodophiles. But, I wonder if there isn't an element of taking away womanhood for some. There is a little irony in something that looks so innocent being used in a decidely not so innocent manner.

This is pretty much the reason I won't go completly bare. I did it once, and I just felt so uncomfortable with the way it looked. As long as there's a little patch somewere, I don't mind a fairly bare look on others, but I only go th that level for special occasioins. Although, I have had times were the razor slipped a little, and you can't seem to get it straight and the next thing you know, your nearly bare! Upkeep is easier though, with just a little trim.

How do you keep from itching like crazy when it starts to grow back? That's what I'd like to know!

powder

details?

powder. talcum, baby? what kind of powder? Do you find it annoying or messy? How much (little, I'm guessing) ? What type of powder would be almost unscented?

thanks for the tip, Kajira!

Ok first of all, there are several threads around here that extol the virtues of Magic, a dipilatory. That might help soften the stubble if not remove it completely.

I like myself better smooth. Having said that I HATE shaving and I always seem to miss a spot. I have tried the aforementioned magic but I have to be really, really careful as I've had problems with other products in the past. Currently I'm trimmed fairly close.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who fells that way. Seriously, every time I see a woman with a shaved pussy I feel slightly creeped out-- and feel as if I'm looking at someone who is a child. For the same reason, I don't shave my pussy. I tried it once, just to see if maybe I was missing out on something, but after I did it I immediately regretted it. Everytime I looked at myself in the mirror I felt like I was looking at a child and it was disturbing. I think the preference for shaved pubes looking "sexy" is a cultural preference. Many other cultures outside of the U.S. would say that it is NOT sexy. So I think this is an aesthetic particular to U.S. culture. As for myself, perhaps because my cultural background is a bit different from others, I feel that body hair is a sign of adulthood, so I flinch whenever I see people clean shaven.

Having been with some partners NOt from this culture, I've found that they enjoy the feeling of soft body hair, not just in the genital area but also under the arms and on the legs(!!!). When I asked about this, one such person said, "It's infinitely more attractive to me to see a woman with soft down than one that looks all red, bumpy, and like a plucked chicken." :D So the thing for shaven pussies is definitely not an aesthetic preference for all cultures.
