Shibari/RopeWork Appreciation

I keep meaning to find a good video on hojojutsu to share here, but they seem scarce as hen’s teeth. Hojojutsu, for those unaware, is the Japanese martial art of tying someone up. In a fight.

It was allegedly used along with other non traditional means to help disarm the samurai and as part of the equivalent of police procedural training. It’s at least semi functional, especially if the target isn’t aware of the techniques themselves.

It is also a part of the history behind shibari, from what I’ve read.

Swoon!

This would be a talking point in your garden.

Is it me, or does that tie look like something someone could wriggle their way out of?

If the horizontal wraps around the upper arms were lower, it'd be at least more difficult, but as high as they are and only one point of binding around the middle of the forearms, I'd think they might be able to work their way free, given a little time

I see what you are talking about. I think it depends a little on where the rope wraps in the front. It may be more difficult to wriggle your upper arms/shoulders free of those wraps than it appears.

I didn't originally see that her right leg is also bound. If the wraps connect to ties lower in the body, wriggling might make it more constrained over time rather than opening up for her to get free.

If she's a good girl, she knows she has been placed in the ropes because her rigger wishes it as well as for her pleasure/need for control, so trying to wriggle free defeats all that. When I've been placed in a tie that wraps my arms behind so my palms cup my elbows, that position reinforces itself as my fingers find themselves gripping and holding as the session evolves.

Also - considering she has been cast in bronze(?) she is definitely not going anywhere. 😜
