So, things get stressful...

depending on the TYPE of stress, i attack it in one of two ways.

if it's something related to a person i tend to just remove myself from their presence (whether it be physical or mental presence) and/or just spend some time beating the shit out of my office chair.

if it's because of an inanimate object, i do the same thing but skip the beating part entirely.

sometimes, and this is my favorite, i find a LOT of comfort in spinning in my desk chair. if i get really fucking hysterically mad at someone or something and i just want to scream bloody murder, i'll sit in the chair and spin 'round for a couple of minutes... guaranteed to make you feel like a kid again!

Taking walks seems to help me immensely! When heavy sh!t goes down I feel literally like the walls are closing in so I have to go outside. Usually a 45-minute to an hour walk will do the trick to calm me down if not clear my head.

Avoiding alcohol, junk food and the person who's stressing me out usually helps. And I need a good belly laugh or two a day just to maintain an even keel. So snacking on a big bowl of crunchy veggies (w/blue cheese dressing of couse ;)) in front of the tv watching 'Drew Carey' or 'Whose Line Is It Anyway' usually does the trick to take my mind off things for a little while. Then I can get some perspective and get re-centered.

Chamomile tea, meditation, a long bath, a long walk, jacking/jilling off ... all are known stress reducers. Laughter and self-care work well for me in particular.

So bi, would you mind sharing what you're particularly stressed out about today? Sometimes talking/posting about it helps to relieve tension ... we're all ears. :rose:

Bi ~

The last four years have had me at my whits end more times than I can count. I, like other's clean the Holy shit out of my house, drive to a very secluded location, get out of my car and yell for as long and as loud as I can, then drive back home. Other times, I hop on the computer, surf like I'll never see another computer in my lifetime. To me, it depends on the type of stress I'm dealing with and to what extent it's bothering me.

My stress relief activities:

-Spirited ride on a sportbike
-Try a variety of calibers at the gun range (a few boxes of .40, .45, or .50 will calm you down quite quickly)
-Video games (specifically, the Grand Theft Auto series, Halo, and racing games)
-Work on my cars/bikes

I like to dance. And I mean like ballet and tap dance. At least those two come after writing and sharing with someone (even if it is just a notebook) how I feel and what's going on. After dancing, I would have to say a long walk outside (so long as it's nice weather).
