Some people...

"I need your help."

"You have it."

"Comes with a risk."

"All favors do..."

I have often reached out to people for help on the other side and was almost always met with kindness. As renowned authors, many chose not to be credited, whether to avoid a flood of similar requests or simply out of modesty. Yes, modesty does exist.

Yes, modesty does exist.
There's quite a difference between modesty and letting someone take advantage of you. Recently I discovered someone selling a collection of stories on Amazon that included at least three of mine. Should I have been modest, and let them pocket the cash?

Bad actors are bad actors, and no-one has any obligation to help them out. I suppose, if you really want, you could ask Lovecraft for the writers details and offer to write the fight scenes for them. That would be the selfless thing to do. And not ask for any credit either, just to be modest.

Without even reading (my annoyance quota for this month is maxed out), I'm guessing it boils down to the same vile old screech: "Mine! mine! mine!"

Perhaps one day you'll write something and be able to look at it and say, "Mine!"

In the meantime, why don't you try one of the Writing Exercises? Just write a few hundred words of a snippet. Try In The Dungeon, for instance. Plenty of possibilities.

But you won't will you? You're all talk and no story.
