Lord have mercy, I'm home! Sooo glad to see a thread for southerners. Though I am slightly disheartened from the lack of people in the MS area.

Girl, you ain't alone. There are plenty of us Mississippi folks here.

Damn great to see ya, sweetie.

To all my fellow southerners, welcome. To you Yankee lurkers, oh well... I'll shut up.

Sorry if this has been said before but if you consider North Florida a Southern State what do you consider South Florida?

Am I missing something ?

Yes, you are missing the millions of residents in your area who are transplanted Northerners (esp. N.Y. and N.J.) and the Latin American immigrants and their kids born after 1964.

What the string is talking about are Southerners in character, not just in latitude and South Florida does not fit the bill. Panhandle Florida does.

You were joking right?

Howdy from Hillbilly Heaven !

East Tennessee here. The beautiful Tennessee Valley.

Exactly. There are still a few parts of Northern Florida (near Alabama and Georgia) that are still very Southern but the rest of the state has been overrun by Yankees.

haha... Yeah, we've got that saying "Whoever said "Love thy neighbor" never lived next door to a Vol fan!".. Headed to Athens in a couple months to see UGA whip some TN butt! It's gonna be faaaaaabulous!!!

I have to head east to get there.

I'm starting to get withdrawals from burgers at the Grille and I'd kill for garlic knots at DaVincis!

Hot damn thats nice!

No Kentucky?

Ahh come on now, Kentucky is southern also. Well maybe they weren't part of the confederacy but they are way more southern than some. :(

Thats what I have said on here many times before. Below the mason dixon line and a slave state. Jefferson Davis was a KYian and unlike Lincoln, educated here in KY. Also, we have a star on the Confederate flag because we had an elected CSA Gov. and sent members to the Conf. Congress. One the best Generals on either side was from KY and fought for the CSA. The CSA Sec of War was from KY. One of the top 5 Calv. Off. was from KY. KY elected two former Confederate Gens. to Gov. after the war. One of the last states to ratify the 13th amendment. A charter member of the SEC athletic conference......the list goes on and on.

Also, there were more units from KY in the CSA army than from say FL.
