Space for Whatchamacallits

Hot brandy, with honey and lemon, is where the action is.

Whisky is too beautiful a thing to heat, or ice.

My god, Michael Bay. You suck harder than the amalgamation of all the girls who allegedly suck better than hoovers in all those copies of the Nude Cleaning Threads.

Yay!

How are you this fine Monday morning?

Well, it's Monday night here, but I'm ok if somewhat flat out, thank you for asking.

And "yay" is a perfect description of what I thought when I read "amalgamation", "Hoover" and "nude cleaning threads" all in one post after being away for a while.

Phew!

PS I'm Fish, so hello.

Mr Lens Flare!

Well, I have to admit, I didn't exactly get that. So I googled it and watched an 8 minute video of all the lens flares... for every second of those 8 minutes!
Staggering.
I have to admit, while I noticed some of them, I was more bowled over by another aspect, to have noticed them all.

Now to clarify, when you are in space and look at a solar body, I'd expect a lens flare to happen. Likewise, when laser beams are being fired, being solid beams of intense light, again, I could understand it.

When a woman is delivering a baby and a lens flare happens because of light being reflected off her shiny nose... not so much.

I have to admit, that was pretty bad. He tried to do something creative and went a little over the top.

Contrastingly, he did figure out how to make it look like they were following down a person who was falling with a cameraman steadily there right beside him the whole way.
Sometimes when you get creative, you make mistakes.

No, I meant where J.J. took the concept of star trek, twisted it all around until the only thing recognizable is the names and the ship's basic shape.
I mean, seriously. Capitalist Kirk? and the many little details like hypos that cause pain???

For someone who claims he is a diehard fan, he butchered the story.

Yeah, some of that kind of annoyed me too. Little minute details, like the birthplace of James Kirk. Not to mention the complete lack of his older brother. Things like that bug me.

I mean, if the Romulan mining vessel hadn't have appeared to alter the timeline, he still would have been born on the USS Kelvin. He was born in Iowa, in Riverside. The timeline is already altered by that stage.

Bad form, J.J. I thought he had done enough of the brain-fuckery with Lost.

This is just so it doesn't say '666' on the reply count anymore.

makes sure no one called Damien is about to ruin my day

I totally missed that. Nice pickup.

...I don't classify myself as a "trekkie." I've known some trekkies who were far and away more die hard than me. I just like the show and note some errors and flaws.

Good morning all.

looks outside to the lovely Spring sunshine

I made it out of the house today! All the way down to the nice coffee shop in town where I got lovely chai tea. Now I'm home and I feel like I've run a marathon. Colds plus LadyWeek really knocks the stuffing out of a girl...

collapses into a rather uncomfortable wooden bench in the back garden in the sun

Good God. I've just hoovered the entire house. My Mother had a 24 bug yesterday and has insisted on the entire house being polished, hoovered and washed today.

I. Am. Exhausted.

Not to mention I've been banished into the garden now because she's washing the floor.

Ugh... it's so bright...

good mornin'

Hope you're feeling much better.

My mom would say "It's a good thing to get out into the fresh air. It'll do you good!"

My sympathies if your mom is anything similar.

Actually I do feel quite a bit better than I did yesterday, thank you.

Tried the hot brandy, lemon and honey last night and it worked like a charm! I have a voice this morning!

Day off. Aaaaah! How sweet it is. :)

I have to attend a service of remembrance for one of my colleagues today, though. She died unexpectedly two weeks ago. Although we've worked together for almost 12 years we were never close. But having to continue without her will be strange.

Other than that: Yay.

Better than her continuing without you though?
