Myself I can see both sides of the rest area debate.
To me there seems little harm in it as no one is being forced into doing anything, and as a society we intermingle. So why not at a rest area? What does it hurt to keep those places open? In that I think the sex that occurred was just an excuse to close them down when really it has to do more with the operating costs of them that states wanted to eliminate.
