Trust me there is no GB envy...just a reader with no sense of humour. The response was to a GB poster who came here from one of the many GB threads about the new How To Cafe...in an attempt to make fun of both GBers and myself as a How Toer.

And for the record...I can't remember the last time I brought up the GB (excluding this exception since we seem to be 'pollinating' each other's space)....so your last statement must have been a generalization.

How about GBLite/polite with a How To twist...for GBers to expand their horizons...check out a new place...make fun of...pump up their GB collective image as the biggest, baddest, best place on Lit...another topic to make fun of/discuss seriously on the GB

...from one of the thin skinned ones that instead of being anonymous and ignored on the GB most of the time I've posted there prefers a place 'where everyone knows my name' *ok maybe not but at least my AVs and the 'free the boobies' campaign ...and just in case you doubted where I belong

The GB is like a big noisy smoky bar with disco music blasting all the time.

Sometimes you just want a nice quiet discussion in a coffee shop with a double espresso and Mozart in the background.

Byron...not to beat a dead horse (in fear of ending up in the 'how to get revenge'/Sicilian thread)...while there are some people who regularly cross post on the GB and the How To forum, the majority of the people who are regular posters on the How To forum do not post on the GB and from what I can gather, have no intent of doing so...certainly not on a regular basis...so the GB didn't lose anything...they never had us.

I like the analogy as well, though I think one would find more people here who prefer Beethoven over Mozart. For that matter, you could get up a sizable crowd for some Keith Urban tracks with that double espresso (make mine decaf, please, or I'll go on a posting marathon that could last days).
