Tanning

i don't know if this will actually amount to anything, but i'll speak my bit here anyway...

the yard thing is a great idea... but only if there is casual observing allowed. lol. i think for your goals it may not be the best option. fair skinned people don't tan very easily so you'll likely wind up either burning OR putting on enough sunscreen to avoid burning and not tan at all in the process. the fresh air would be great but i think it's not the best option.

the tanning salon thing is not something i'm familiar with... not enough to say that it's going to work better than the sun. i'd GUESS that if you go regularly and at the closest healthy intervals you may see some progress in the time you have. a lot of people get a "base tan" in a salon and then let the sun do the rest of the work. *shrug* i dunno if this is a good option either... but better than the yard i think.

the spray on and rub on tanners have gotten much better in recent years. i think you still have to be careful about how you put them on. it may be the best option for you... and you can do it the day before. there wouldn't be any worries about burning or anything of course.

i'm thinkin' that the nice thing is that you could try one or two of the products now and have time to decide which you prefer before you need to actually use one for the wedding. if memory serves, they tend to wear off in a few days (maybe a week?) so that should work out well for you.

i WOULD recommend that you get someone familiar with the products to advise you on this. i'm sort of thinking in the back of my mind that the creams and sprays may not look the best with freckles... it depends on how vivid they are i suppose.

anyway... i have no clue what i'm really talking about as i have no personal experience. but i'd say use the spray or cream products. hope that helps.

I wondered about those same issues EJ. Not quite sure how the spray tanners would work on one so fair either. I don't want to be as orange as my bridesmaid dress either.

I really don't mind being white with my freckles except I have the most horribly uneven tan from wearing sleeveless, low cut shirts over the summer. I look quite funny without a shirt on......fairly tanned arms and ghostly white skin in contrast. I don't want to scare the guests at my friend's wedding!

Hopefully, someone with experience can give their $ 0.02 as well. I am undecided as to what I should do. *shrugs*

ok... first the topless backyard tanning vision and now this? what're you tryin' to do to us?????? ;)

i'm not sure about the spray on stuff... at least not after seeing kramer use it in "seinfeld." if it were me, i'd probably lean toward the bronzing creams.

maybe you could check with a makeup chick in your local department store? or a well versed drug store employee?

Well....this IS the "How To" Forum.....I want to know how to tan....and felt I needed to give adequate information so you know why I need to tan......

;)

There is another thread called....You Know You're Sexually Frustrated When....I am a card carrying member of that one! :D

Maybe I should check with a chick at the department store. Not sure I can trust people at the drug store, lol.

Oooh, never saw that Seinfeld but Friends had one with Ross and the spray tan booth.....it was not a good result. I definately don't want to look like a pumpkin!

maybe i'm confusing things... i think you're right... i must be thinking of ross in "friends." i think the kramer thing i'm thinking of is the kenny rogers roasters episode where he oranged up from the giant neon sign outside his window.

christ i hate it when the sitcoms run together in my head. :( one day i'm going to remember archie bunker yelling at barney fife because he thought janet wood was trying to get pregnant by mr. kotter when the truth of the matter was that janet was just wanting to redecorate gilligan's hut.

I am a redhead. I once made the mistake of going to a tanning bed around prom when I was younger. I was in that bed for five minutes and ended up blistered and taking many oatmeal and milk bathes for the next two weeks! I only Mystic Tan now! To hell with the traditional fake bake!

My daughter and I were in Wal-Mart last week doing our grocery shopping. As we turn down an aisle there is this man that has a beet red face except for where he had been wearing his sunglasses. The contrast was shocking and my daughter and I bursted out laughing at the same moment. Fortunately, he just smiled like he had been laughed at more then once. :D

Personally I hate the sun so I won't tan that way and I'm too lazy and cheap to go to a tanning salon. Good for me my guy loves my very white skin. Better contrast for spankings he says. ;)
