Team PM!

PM's are fun, especially random PM's. I hardly ever send them anymore, but every once in awhile I'll get the bug, and send a random conversational PM. I've had some fun and interesting messages from all kinds of people, covering all kinds of topics. Broad as the sky above, those are the fun ones.

How has everyone been getting on while I've been away from Lit? I hope that you've all been exchanging lots of nice PMs. :)

Just to recap for those who have been asking:

1. All that you need to do in order to join Team PM is to include a link in your signature to say that you welcome unsolicited, respectful PMs.

2. There are several templates for the link in this thread, but this one (click me) is one of the most commonly used.

Important Note: You must also change the number in the link to match your own user ID -- see the instructions here (click me!) -- or else someone else will receive your PMs. :(

3. You can test that your Team PM link works by clicking on it and sending yourself a PM. :)

4. You can also consider adding a button to your signature to explain to others about Team PM. There's a template for the button here (click me too!)

I hope that's helpful. :)

I agree! I've had some lovely conversations as a result of random playful PMs. :D

For future reference, I've now gone to the trouble of amalgamating all of the instructions for Team PM into a single FAQ section that can be found on the first page of this thread (see here).

For convenience, I've also reproduced the contents below:

What is Team PM?

Team PM is a self-declared community of Litsters who wish to indicate to others that they will always welcome the receipt of unsolicited Personal Messages that are friendly and respectful.

How do I join Team PM?

Probably the best way to demonstrate that you are part of Team PM is to include a link in your forum signature to say so and to provide an easy way for others to send you a PM.

How do I add a Team PM link to my signature?

Here are the suggested steps:

1. On the top bar of the Lit page, click on "Quick Links" and select "My Profile". In your web browser bar, you should see an address of the form "forum.literotica.com/member.php?u=XXXXXXX". Make a note of the XXXXXXX number -- this is your own user ID on Lit.

2. On the top bar of the Lit page, click on "User CP". In the Control Panel that appears on the left, select "Edit Signature". Copy and paste the following code (without any line breaks) into the "Edit Signature" text box in an appropriate position in your signature. Replace XXXXXXX below with your user ID that you noted down in step 1 above.
Team PM
* Thanks to QSco and Kalamain for devising this template
3. Click on the "Preview Signature" button to inspect the changes to your signature. If necessary, make corrections. If all looks good, then click on the "Save Signature" button.

4. Click on "Edit Signature" again to open up the view of your signature, and click on the "Team PM" link that you have created. If all is well, then a "Send New Private Message" window should open with your username pre-filled as the recipient.

5. If you wish, you can also add an explanatory button to your signature by copying and pasting the following code*:
Members of Team PM are people who are willing to receive respectful, unsolicited PMs from others and will try to always respond in a respectful manner. The goal is to promote interaction and create a friendly community.

* Thanks to Inspirious for this suggestion in his posting here (click)

I hope that this is helpful. It would be great for me to hear that it is! :)

Add another to the list! Great Idea!
Indeed...Thanks Mindfondler!
Thanks! Very cool idea :D
I like this idea. I'm in. :)
You're all very welcome! :)

I'd like to point out that "Team PM" wasn't my idea, but rather that of a lovely lady by the username of _Lorelei_, as you'll discover if you check out the history of the thread. All that I've done is to pull together some of the key contributions into one easy-to-swallow package.

I hope that the "Team PM" concept is working out! I rarely see any feedback on it, but I'm hoping that a few people who wouldn't otherwise have done so are now quietly exchanging friendly and respectful PMs in the knowledge that they'll be well received. :)

Hi Mind,

I keep meaning to post feedback here about the team pm movement.

It is working really well for me, not on a PM everyday but it has certainly opened up a few more doors.

That's great! It gives me a nice warm feeling to hear that. Hopefully others will now be encouraged by it.

Thanks for sharing! :)

Just joining the team

I've gotten PMs over the years, but none recently, and would welcome any from women who would like to have some erudite, reasonable conversations...

Hiyas

Who doesn't like pm's? I love logging in and getting that message, sadly nothing for a while, please cum my way ;-) :D

Bump! :D

I'm still seeing quite a few "Team PM" tags on people's signatures. Any good stories about how it's working out? Have any friendships been made that wouldn't otherwise have happened?
.

A good pm is never a bad thing. A bad pm is never a good thing. No, I will never want to see pics of you jacking off or watch you jack off, so if that's the extent of your pm, don't bother.
Bonus points if you actually read the profile of the person you are sending a pm to or some of their previous posts to see if you have common interests

I've received some lovely PMs recently: all kind, thoughtful and most welcome. They didn't explicitly mention Team PM, but I'm sure that it doesn't hurt to have the link in my signature. :)
