Thanks for making GLBT Chatter a great place to talk?

I agree but...
Why single out a particular type of forum...or section of a forum. Kind of screams - prejudice and containment to me.

Once again I'll ask; how do you see this forum as singled out.

I am interested, as a gay man, to know in what way a straight woman sees me as being contained and prejudiced against, that I am not seeing myself.

My intent is/was not to single out this particular forum, Queersetti - I am just surprised to see this GLBT forum being told to - take it here and take it there - instead of containing it to their community - where they probably feel most comfortable. Just like not all people (men and women) do not like sports - in a sports section, if members of that section were told to take their graphics, etc., and put them in another forum with general pictures - what would be the use to post the pictures.

As I said...
No singling out - just a generalization as this forum is the only one where I see - oppression and "special rules." Of course, I have not visited the entire site but - I will.

Thanks.

The GLBT section is just fine being lumped in one place, where the hell do you get the idea thats it predjudice?

You do need to look around; as I previously pointed out, most of the other Lit forums are dedicated to specific topics. The GLBT policies are in keeping with overall site standards.

I think that the error you are making is in conflating GLBT topics with GLBT people. This is a board for the former, not necessarily the latter. Anyone, of any orientation or inclination, is welcome to post here,on pertinent issues, and anyone is welcome to post elsewhere on Lit. A lesbian who wants to discuss the war in Iraq, for example, would be best advised to post about it on the GB. If a transexual wants to know how to install a new OS on their computer, I'd advise them to ask in the How To forum. Their sexuality is not relevant to those discussions, and the conversations would add little that would be specifically edifying to the GLBT community if they were posted here.

I hope that helps you understand.

how can a website on the world wide web opress someone especially when it's free and anyone can join?

if you feel opressed, persecuted, and wronged by a free erotic website... YOU are the only one to blame.. because you can leave anytime you want and not feel so attached to a place where people sit at home in their undewear and can log in..

Have a nice night.

OPPRESSION fills the above post - oppressive in that...

The GLBT community would feel better, in my opinion, in their own community - this section of literotica. Not that they want to present to the membership that they are a "band of lepers" but...

In my experience on another site...GLBT...Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered/Transsexual, CrossDresser...were separate and all thet pertained to their community - stayed on their respective forum. It is more comfortable, as it is more comfortable and sensible, when a site/board separates - for instance - personal photos of members and family would not be appropriate or fit in to - a redlight light district-like forum...filled will nude photographs of men and women and other adult content (R and X+) photographs.

I am just curious why the GLBT community is being singled out to not - post all their content on this section...and old threads are being removed? You (owner/administration) do not discrimnate against the sex fiends on the General, Playground, BDSM, etc., boards...they have free reign to do as they please - and may I say - some of the thread topics suck...are sillier than what Kindergarten students would think up.

OPPRESSION is a vile, harmful, and hurtful action against cyberworld's membership and boards.

FREEDOM of SPEECH and FREEDOM of EXPRESSION is everyone's right - whether in real life or in cyberworld.

Why do you single out the GLBT community and execute conditions on what they can post...and also TELL THEM to...move to the back of the bus, in a sense...and not allow photographs in their own community?

I smell...prejudice and discrimation...The Biggy Rat of Society.

Where their threads belong?
The aforementioned/quoted post belongs in the trash.

Free Speech, No Spam!

LITEROTICA BOASTS FREE SPEECH MY ASS!!

Don't you think it's rather condescending for a straight woman to come on to a GLBT forum and tell the queers that we are being oppressed and don't know it?

I care.
So kill me or sue me.

It seems to me that if you really cared, you would listen to what we have to say, rather than lecture us about our own realities.

I'd love to, but without a straight woman to monitor my life for me, in order to make sure I am not being oppressed, how will I know?

Troll is a bit premature I think, but I admit that the more I read this thread, the more I picture ellediablo cackling while she stirs a cauldron of bubbling shit.

You'll know when you look in the mirror, Queersetti, and like, or love...what you see, babe. I can look in the mirror and like what I see - not looks but - the person whose eyes I am looking into. I am happy and comfortable with...me. I may be a vocal woman and will say what's on my mind, especially when I feel or believe that something is not fair but - I am a woman who - stands up, or tries to (it ain't that easy on my own...i need backup, believe me) stand up for myself and others - when oppression enters the picture. Freedom of anything - is priceless and precious...and when it is threatened, even slightly...it is something to be dealt with to ensure that that - FREEDOM - remains intact.

Straight woman?
It doesn't matter what kind of woman I am...I am a human being before I am a...WOman. WO being...the symbol. I do not abuse the fact that I am a woman and also - I am not a Womens Libber.

Capisce?

Hope you have a great Monday, Queersetti.
Thanks for your time.

Yeah, actually, it matters quite a bit what kind of a woman you are. I'm gay, you're not. Yet you persist in condescendingly lecturing me about how you believe I, as a gay person, should feel. And while breast beating about oppression,no less! The irony is astounding. If you are concerned about gays being oppressed, you might want to try changing your own plantation mentality towards us. We are not children, we do not need you to watch over us and tell us that you know more about the reality of being gay than we do ourselves.

I do believe that your heart is in the right place. I think you feel genuine sympathy towards the GLBT community. But that doesn't give you the right to decide for us whether or not we feel oppressed in a given situation. We are adults (and I am an adult who is not suffering from any self esteem problems, despite your insinuations) and we have a very good perception of the world around us. Believe it or not, we actually know a bit more than you do about what it's like to be queer.

Go ride to someone else's rescue.
