Queersetti said:Yeah, actually, it matters quite a bit what kind of a woman you are. I'm gay, you're not. Yet you persist in condescendingly lecturing me about how you believe I, as a gay person, should feel. And while breast beating about oppression,no less! The irony is astounding. If you are concerned about gays being oppressed, you might want to try changing your own plantation mentality towards us. We are not children, we do not need you to watch over us and tell us that you know more about the reality of being gay than we do ourselves.
I do believe that your heart is in the right place. I think you feel genuine sympathy towards the GLBT community. But that doesn't give you the right to decide for us whether or not we feel oppressed in a given situation. We are adults (and I am an adult who is not suffering from any self esteem problems, despite your insinuations) and we have a very good perception of the world around us. Believe it or not, we actually know a bit more than you do about what it's like to be queer.
Go ride to someone else's rescue.
I am a woman, Queersetti, not a Rough Rider, Texas Ranger, Navy Seal, State Trooper, Green Beret, a Mountie, etc..nor am I a hotshot woman with an attitude. I do not ride to anyone's rescue. I am not strong enough for that - sometimes I need somebody to watch over me and rescue me. But that is not the issue here...
Sorry for being presumptuous.
I have people in my real life, as well as my cyberlife, from the GLBT community. I may not be a lesbian or bisexual but...family members and friends have opened their world to me and well...I have seen people accepted...and people tossed from families and friendships like an old doll or a broken toy. But-
I will respect your feelings...it is your right.
Have a nice Monday.
