The 2025 750 Word Story Challenge Support Thread

Now that the list is posted, it will be interesting to see what that does to the traffic into the stories, and what it does to the scores.

I'm going to baseline mine here, as a record.
4.02/59, off 3600 views, 8 comments
4.47/36, off 2800, 6 comments

Four days later:
4.05/65 off 3750 views
4.47/36 off 2844 views
Conclusion - not many new readers coming from the list being published.

I think I've picked up no new ratings, two favorites and maybe a dozen reads across three stories.

One of my stories picked up a lot of votes, the other two, not so much. I'm not going to blame the issues we've had with getting stories on the list, I had two make the list and one get left off, but we have to keep in mind, the 750 Word Challenge is for US, not THEM. 750 words isn't enough to make someone reach for the box of kleenex, but for us it's a challenge and a half - the proper words in the proper order to get the image across. Exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, conclusion - it's nearly impossible to get it all in there. Don't be disappointed if you didn't get a lot of votes. Many readers are looking for "strokers" and that's a rare bird in 750 words (Unless your nickname is Quickdraw)

My entry has similar stats to my other posted stories, really pleased with that!

I had expected/hoped that would be the case, since my 750 word story isn't too different from my other submissions aside from length.
