When I'm Out West, she just comes over and lies down beside my chair at meal time. I don't have to say a word. Her stomach is my biggest fan.

Mine seems to know when I'm eating something that would be acceptable by her! If I'm not quick enough with the offering, I get growly reminders!

Thanks and I did for years but it’s starting to take its toll. I need tons of rest now just to get through and then a recovery day when I get back. I say I’m going to retire in seven years but I’d love to do it sooner. I keep threatening to retire and go herd goats in the alps or some other low stress job!

I fucking loathed group projects.


Loathed, I say.

I did, too! There're always the ones who do minimal work and want to coast on the backs of the other group members.

Fortunately, by the time I was in that program, I knew how to deal with those people; I was a Nursing professor by then.

I was in the program with two of my friends, one of whom was a president at one of the local hospital systems. We were able to pick and choose others who wanted to join our group. (We had a reputation)

We always let prospective members know how the group worked and what the rewards/consequences would be for their actions. People tended to move through the program in a cohort so by the 2nd or 3rd class, we pretty much knew who we were dealing with.

Yesterday was rough. Been trapped in this house for almost a year now.

This time of year I get sicker than normal outside, so leaving for even a couple hours leaves me sick for a couple of days.

It's getting to the point where I need to abandon nearly everything we've worked for over the last 25 years, pull up stakes and start over somewhere else. Not sure I have the energy for something like that. But can't do that yet anyway, some things need to wind down here. Really struggling with it right now. Fuck. Just fuck!

Yep for the most part..... I feel a little junk drunk this am (I ate junk i normally don't qnd I feel sort of icky) but I will drink lots of water Md get over it.

Yep. It is in German village. In the 70s it was a run down place now it is a very artsy fartsy place and VERY expensive to live there.... I may need a new suspension because driving in German village is rough.....

There is a small town in the central WA mountains called Leavenworth. It's similar. Now famous for being Christmas town. WAY too expensive to live there!

Ankle is sore. The boot/sock thing is . . . maybe not quite enough. Ordered one of those ankle brace thingies. Experimentation.


I used to wear a wrist thingie when the arthritis there would act up. Guess what? It don't act up no more . . . .

A brace will put pressure on the area to help prevent overuse.

I don’t take driving in the snow too lightly, but I do something similar. I want to see how my truck is going to handle the snow. Not all snow is the same.

I want to be confident driving in the white stuff with as few surprises as possible. The big surprise, is typically how other people drive…

There are some teachers who won't give you credit if your solution doesn't match the one in their Instructor's Edition of the textbook.
Case in Point: HS Geometry
"You have the 22 points. I follow you up until this point here... and pick it up for the last X points. But I lose you in the middle and your solution doesn't match mine (i.e. the book's), so I can't give you full credit."

That teacher's personal limitations sucked all the fun out of geometry. The crap grade didn't help either.

That's just lazy teaching!

When I see my mom, I always get her Dunkin, but the exact opposite coffee of mine (I like it black): half coffee, half milk and the other half sugar. I know that’s three halves, but it’s how she likes it.

She’s 95 and a former smoker. She can drink what she wants to drink!

I think, by the time one reaches one's 90s, one can pretty much do/have whatever TF they want!
