The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Hello everyone,
I'm sitting in the Kettering hospital near me, where my Mrs is getting treatment after she injured 3 disc's in her lumbar spine. I'm watching her sleep under medication for extreme pain. This is day two. I'm using the hospital wifi for my tablet which kinda makes me uneasy...I don't like shared wifi.
I'll keep you posted
I hope she starts feeling better soon, RJ! 🫂🫂

Quick Public Service Announcement before I head to bed:

I'm having routine day surgery Monday (11/11) so will be offline that day. Not sure how involved the recovery will be so my presence may be spotty next week. Nothing big or extreme but will be wonderful once it's done and all healed up. 😊
Let us know how you are, Likes! Sending healing energy your way! 🫂🥰💕✨💝

Sweet Dreams everyone
🎶 Good Night 🎶

Good night, Likes! Sleep well. 😴💤🥰✨💕

Wow. Remind me not to go back! 😂

Seriously, I had a great time there last year. My niece lives in Paris and Altho she was a great guide, she could not be there every minute, so I explored and had a great time. Google translate was my friend and as long as you made an attempt, most people gave me a free pass for making an effort.

Had some amazing meals. I did find the coffees to be quite small and not to my liking.

I took the train from Berlin and I think went right thru your area, near strasbourg.
Most French people are quite happy to help with the language if you make an effort. They get, understandably, annoyed when visitors expect that they should all be able to speak English. And there are a lot of those people around. Also, when they learn English in school, it is mainly as a written language, so they have a palpable lack of confidence when speaking it.

Back to pester you all, after a week away. What a week too…so tiring and full of emotion as I got to cuddle my beautiful grandson and my daughter. I don’t mind saying I got emotional,a few time this week and blubbed. No stiff upper lip for this English Gentleman lol. All that matters is Mum and baby are well despite the trauma thank the Lord.

Also saw my elderly uncle and aunt, two cousins and second cousin and her husband and children. They are over from Canada so it was precious and rare family time and a lunch. On the way home we stopped off with my mum so I celebrated another birthday with her and got out for lunch. Not many guys in their late sixties get to see their Mom on their birthday.

So home now feeling so blessed and great to be back amongst you friends drinking my pissy tea.

Oh no, RJ! 😕 I’m sorry she’s in so much pain and that she’s in the hospital.

Hugs my friend!! Hope she’s on the mend soon and that you guys can get back home and start the healing process.

I hope she can recover and heal. I had "protruding disc" in my lower spine and they sent me to my knees. I know the pain but was able to recover. It took a couple of years but I made it thru. They can do miracles these days. I hope she recovers soon.

I was a little nervous cuz you hear all the typical stories abt people having bad experiences.

But I had a great time. And people were nice. And bought my wife some really nice high end lingerie while I was there!!

Paris has to be the most beautiful city.
