WOW....I imagine that took a lot of patience! Thanks for sharing, DJ!

Hey and to Joe and mrsJ......Hurry back!!!!!! :p You are missed!
That it did Copper

Like our teacher said it took over a year to do and was "In the days before powertools". Just hammer, chisel, and files used for this one......I'm sure the artist spent alot of time planning this, but as our teacher said it might not have been him WORKNG on the piece. Alot of times "Appretices" were told what to do by the master artist they were studying under.

So although it was the artist's design and direction it wasn't necessarily their hands doing the work....although it could have been.

A BUMP BACK TO THE TOP

Hey Diji,
I lived in Greece for a few years as a kid and got to see alot of pre power tool stone carvings and some awe inspiring architecture. I remember the first time I went to the Parthenon in Athens, l looked at the remains and turned to dad and asked "How did they do that, they didn't have cranes back then." He just said "I don't know."
And my clients bitch when a project goes a week late due to weather delays.

Thanks

A big thanks to Copper, Snake and Diji for all the bumps. :)

Hey Copper, how you been. I thought work was slowing down, but it is more insane than ever. My last day off since November 15 was Thanksgiving day.
But its paying for X-mas, so its all good. And I've earned some extra comp. time for when MrsJ becomes a grandmother, so we can take some time off and enjoy that time.

.....Always glad to help....
...Congrats on the soon-to-be-gr-baby, just had our first, nothin' like'em... :) ..
.....Bump, again....

...Ride safe, but ride...

Yeah, There is a Lit buddy from Greece and she shows pics of the city and other islands when she visits them.

They have a replica of the Parthenon and the Athena Parthenos in Memphis Tennessee, but they didn't replicate the one part of it that probably made it the most spectacular. The real one had gold dressings put on it. Not sure where they got enough gold to do all that.

LOL Well people will always do that these days because these ARE the days of powertools.

Although some people think we can do magic with powertools. One friend said she took her daughter on a fieldtrip to an Egyptian museum out here and the teacher looked at a HUGE wall relief and said that with todays powertools you could probably make one in an hour:eek:

I really think the guy had NO CLUE AT ALL. ;) :D

Hey, I can't let my favorite place fall away.

I love hearing and seeing all your stuff since I don't ride myself.

LOL The closest thing I have gotten to it is...My Mom wanted to buy my Uncle some Harley clothing for Christmas, but was afraid of going to the Harley store by herself so she had me come out and go with her....What she did NOT tell me was that she was also going to bring along my MUCH more adventurous and gullable Grandmother (A Jahovah's Witness in her 70's  )

The three of us were a sight for sure.

Sadly I took a look at all the bikes they had there.....Now I REALLY want to ride some day.:(

Sounds like you had a good time :D
Don't give up and just remember, they make trikes so people don't have to get a convertable just to feel a little wind. ;)

We are going to hit the lower 60's Sunday, but its looking like I'll be spending all day at the hospital. We just found out that the time is here, and MrsJ will be a grandmother this weekend. :catroar: :cathappy: :cathappy:

Makes all the insane hours we have been working worth every second.
I just wish everyone could see how excited MrsJ really is.

We both send our love and best wishes everyone. It looks like the holidays are going to be busy, but this is going to be a good busy. ;)
