I’m covered in baby goo! One of the trainees has a twin sister who has a 4 week old baby girl she brought in. We all enjoyed wonderful cuddles. And somehow it brings home to us why we are doing what we do now and what CG, RT and others did in the old days. To make this world safe for this little angel and others like her. Still covered in baby goo.
There you go young lady.
Sometimes when we are blessed, the reason behind the job is that simple.
Sometimes its the person on your left and right when your standing guard or out on patrol.
Sometimes its the people behind(preferably way behind) you. We are the line in the sand.
Sometimes for those of us in command of troops it's all about trying to get them a hot meal and a warm bed.
When we are not so lucky it is a whole different matter. I pray that you have far less of those than I have. If in any way my burdens have helped ease your then mine are lighter for it.
The innocent laugh or snuggle of a child , or the arms of a loved one can take so much pain away.
Remember to reach out to them when you can. Do not pull away from them when they come to comfort you(That comfort is mutual).
Yesterday is gone, put it in the past and take it's lessons forward.
Tomorrow is not promised have a plan in case it gets here but, keep it flexible in case it's not what you expected.
Today is what we have to deal with and only the troubles of the day are on our shoulders. Don't be afraid to let someone else help carry that burden. When you are stronger than the next person looks, offer to help with there's. Sometimes these thing are so hard to live by. They are simple truths, if only you can quiet your mind.
Mine in not that quiet today. I hope that your is at peace.
