The China Pearl Inn part 7

Setting off to join the ‘Ship’s Company’ for a few days exercise. Takes two biscuits (cookies) - one for me and one for Sal. Cheers SF.

See you all soon

Oh that we are L F. I shall miss Robyn and Sal while they are on their training exercises.:(

I can echo this sentiment.

I would be a very poor substitute for either of them, no matter what kind of skirt I wore.

LOL...

come on now RT we will never know unless we try! :D how do you feel about shaved legs?;)

Come on girls I'm sure someone can lend RT a pair of heels a skirt and some lippy?

ROFL

;)Uggg:rose:

Haven't seen Chris for a while?

The inn gets quiet when all the playful people are away.

Need some fun in here!

Come on! Who wants to make molitoff (Scuze spelling -my checker can't help with this one. lol) cocktails for throwing at trains? Whose up for some jelly wrestling?

Bet you all that no one can drink phoo under the bar!! (Believe me I've tried!)

Come on CG put on your Party pants.:D

Are you in that skirt yet feather man?;)

Get up out of your warm chair by the fire SF where torching Trains!:nana:

Come on LS breakfast is served::rose::rose::rose:

PARTY!!!!:D

Uggg:rose:

Uggg Chris floats in and out of the Inn on his own schedule. Sometimes he gets lost in his nefarious experiments. Which is probably safe for the Inn.;)

Raven the thoughts of you or Uggg in a skirt and heels is something I rather not contemplate. For now I fear the Inn is a bachelor pad till the gals return. :(

Looks like my attempt to get a party started in here was a bit of a flop .

Oh well!

*Crawls back under the bar and continues to work on the plans for a gin bottle
film projector*

Uggg:rose:

That was certainly a lot of creative ideas for a party. Spent the day watching the snow melt. I like an adventurous life!

NO! Not torching anything. sheesh. It has been a slow day all around. Got dark and I couldn't watch the snow melt any more.

And they might be good for melting snow too. I haven't tried that.

When I lived up in the higher mountains, the railroad went through the middle of town. I enjoyed the lonely wail of the horns, but I hated having to wait for a LONG time for the train to pass. Some of those trains had as many as a hundred cars. When I lived on the coast, my housing area bordered the train yards. They would take the cargo from the ships in the harbor up to the rail yards in Los Angeles, where the cargo would be sent north, south and east. I could hear the yelling, clanging, and occasionally the house would shake when they dropped one of those huge cargo carriers. I miss the caboose car. So, I don't want to see trains destroyed.

As far as the snow goes, it will melt when the temps rise. It never stays long. Where my sister lives, it snows and then the snow stays for MONTHS.

Do you read much SF? I used to be addicted to books but in recent years the internet has slowly taken their place. Ive just finished a fantastic trilogy of novels. Reminded me of the old days. Reading all day. Satying up way too late just becuase i need to read just a few more pages.

Lol I really was an addict.

Uggg:rose:

I have always been addicted to books. When I was twelve, I would stay up all night on Friday and Saturday reading. Even now, I can't go to bed without reading for awhile so I frequently see the sky get light before I fall asleep. I tend to read mysteries and detective novels.

These days I read mostly Sci fiction, fantasy or poetry. But at various times I've been hooked on just about every genre of fiction. I'm always reading non fiction to. I just haven't needed books much lately, there is so much to read online.

It was nice to read a real book made of paper again. no glowing screen. that smell. :heart:Books!

Uggg

Yep. People keep telling me to get an electronic reader, but I like holding a book. I am not much of a sci fi/fantasy reader. I have read a little, but it isn't my interest. I have read a few things that I only read when I have nothing else around and I am desperate. :) My favorite book was a kids' book about a whale that kept singing in his sleep which was dangerous for the pod. So they kicked him out and he had to be on his own. He ended up in an underwater city being taken advantage of. It was very apropos to the students I taught who were in danger of being picked up by gangs. They don't print it any more though. Too bad, it was a great book for metaphors.

What age group did you teach?

I enjoy Scifi and fantasy because it stretches the imagination but the best story I ever read was in a book called Shantaram (not sure if that's spelt exactly right) by Gregory David Roberts. Based roughly on his life but fiction. Beautifully written. very interesting.

Never heard of it or him. I taught fifth grade primarily, although throughout my career I taught every grade K-6 and adult ESL classes.

My brains reached its limit. I'ma gonna crawl under the bar for a few hours.

The day is one of a raw chill, rain and drizzle, and one tosnuggle up to the hearth with a good whiskey

S F it seems like we are on the opposite side of the clock. It good to see that Uggg kept you company last night. The big news here is the snow is melting, no skiing today.:(

Perhaps tomorrow will be a better day.
