The China Pearl Inn part 7

K will send you a sausage:)

Hmmm:confused: nope this doesn't seem to be working:(

Sorry I'm not being very good company tonight. I'm involved in an online game so I'm just stopping in here in between rounds.

Me too. Watching tv, playing a game, and keeping an eye on this place. I thought you had gone to bed, so didn't keep as close an eye as I could have. sorry.

My head is spinning with the rapid and seemingly never ending drastic change in weather. Yester day it was in the upper 40F’s, today snowing and possible 6” of snow today and then into the upper 50F’s tomorrow.

In the White Mountains we say If you don’t like the weather ……..wait a minute.. ;)

Last week CG, down South, in Massachusetts, sunny and 60's F one day, and snow the next.

Hoping you all have been able to avoid the flu that is going around. I have had it for two weeks now and it is kicking my ass. :p

The strain of flu that is so prevalent this year was the same strain that was known as the Spanish flu of 1918-1919. So don't fool around with it LF.

LF, Dawn, a fellow cadet and ‘silent reader’ of the inn and Charlotte is a nurse (like GG ER & WPUK). She warned you must, repeat MUST check it out. THAT’S AN ORDER!

That is very good advice Robyn and it is after all and ORDER young lady. ;)

So take for action Robyn!

Been really tired everyone! I’ll get some rest and write more tomorrow! Hugs and kisses to everyone!

You get your rest, the Winter Storm is on it’s way. But please know Robyn and I both miss you. She is blowing kisses.

CG, I have a written exam this week as part of my attempt to get my NRR badges. Won’t be on much but know I miss you too. Love you.

Looks like we are all in for some winter weather. Right now the sky is a bright blue, no clouds in sight. Temps are around 50F. Supposed to dump about three inches of snow on Tuesday. Three doesn't sound like much to you guys, I know, but for this area it is a lot. We haven't quite melted off all the snow from Friday's inch and a half.

Nothing going on around here. Anything interesting going on out there?

While my nurses of choice are deployed elsewhere, I am taking good care, eating, hydrating, and lots of sleep. This too shall pass.

Best of luck, one and all. XXOO

Sounds like you are doing all the right things. But be careful and don't hesitate to see the doctor if you don't start getting better. Two weeks is plenty of time to deal with the flu, and as the others mentioned, flu strains these days are not like they were ten years ago.

Do you have the flu vaccine? In the Military we get free flu vaccines every year.

Right! Might, repeat MIGHT be ready to post in Charlotte and the Catacombs today unless the snow comes and we have to go into support mode. Sally is working on her essay and I’ve got an engineering project to complete. But after that who knows?

We’re all busy. I’ve had to escort two injured American soldiers to a hospital in San Antonio. Travelled with an American Military Nurse and between us we kept our patients hydrated, sedated and ready for specialist treatment.

Hope everyone is well. We’re off to a hotel before flying back to our base tomorrow.

Good afternoon everyone!

It's such a joy reading about all your lives after a hard day at work. You're all so dear to me. I'm glad to really get to know you all, even though we're on such different schedules.

Last week was crazy difficult and taxing on my body. I'm not the tallest nor physically fit lady in the world, so most of the machine was over my head. It's not easy to lift 15kg of cumbersome and unwieldy steel over one's head in the shape of a cylindrical tube, and try to install it in a machine with a vacuum feed. Let's just say, it was comically and expensively catastrophic.

The machine I am working on this week is much closer to the ground and I can reach and lift everything, plus there are supports and lifters on this one, so it's much more comfortable to operate. If I can stay with this one, I'm going to be very happy to accept the position (If they offer it to me... I hope me dropping something expensive last week didn't disqualify me *cringes*)

Also there's the issue of time and sleep that makes me so worn out. I have to wake up at 5:00 and commute for 90ish minutes to be there on time for 7:00. This morning, my bus simply didn't come, so I had to leg it for a couple km - I was, predictably, late. But no one was mad, at least. I think it might work out for me! *fingers crossed*

Now that the seriousness is done, let's have a little fun.

Who wants to play a kissing game with me and pink pet?!

*looks around the room with a gap-toothed grin*

Let's see, I've got cherry lip-gloss, mint lip-gloss, chocolate... Take your pick. OOooOOR you could kiss the pink pet. He has another kind of flavor. You win a prize if you can guess what it is. *cheeky grin*

So who's game??!! Pucker up!:kiss:

Do you have the flu vaccine?

Oh yes, since I work at an academic medical institute, we are given free flu vaccinations. The problem is no one knows which strain to inoculate against, and the vaccines are only 40% effective. It is still a good thing to do, but I would hate for my life to depend on it.

Right! Might, repeat MIGHT be ready to post...

No worries Robyn. Both you and Sal post when you have time and will enjoy doing so. This is supposed to be fun and stress relief. I will happily keep taking liberties with your characters until you do... :)
