The China Pearl Inn part 7

It also makes the time go fast. Busy is always good. As long as one isn't so busy that they feel overwhelmed.

I'm pretty organised. I don't get overwhelmed easily. I just go into efficiency mode and deal with things. I'm a multi- multitasker:D.

Then later when the situation is better... I drink! ;)

I'm ok. Just lost my internet connection the moment before I won a game online though. automatic forfeit:(

We’re off to a ‘Careers Convention’ at a local park where over 1500 school leavers will be in attendance to consider their futures. Our job is to try to ‘sell’ the idea of a military career. Then we’re going to be assessed on how we coped and ... and ... we’ve got to fill out a F*CK*NG REPORT!

Lol, paper work! Is the convention outdoors? Or does the park have an indoors?

It’s outdoors but we’re using a marquee and we’re taking two tanks, a helicopter, troop vehicles and an amphibious lander.

Robyn, correct me if I a wrong, but it seems that those who join the military are rather inclined that direction anyway. It isn't a hard sell. I don't see many young people saying, "don't know what I am going to do with my life, guess I will become a professional soldier!"

That’s just it LF. A lot of youngsters have a starry eyed view of Forces life. Our job is to shake that view by showing them some of the day to day work. We’re not there to discourage but to show the true cost. In reality out of every 20 applicants 3 might get through the first stage.

Back there tomorrow then reports.

*With the taproom seeming pretty quiet I slip into my hideaway under the bar*

*The walls down here glow a florescent pink and all the furniture is made of gin bottles. The lovely Lady Light Shiva sleeps deeply in the gin bottle bed with a blanket of woven red roses pulled up to her nose. She has been very tired since she started her new job so I kiss her forehead softly and leave her undisturbed. Every now and then she mumbles in her sleep and takes a bite out of her blanket.*

*I sit back in my gin bottle arm chair and close my eyes, happily waiting for the sound of activity above...*

*A hand reaches out from under the bar and fishes around till it finds the familiar shape of a gin bottle*

*Hand and bottle both vanish in a flash*

*A foot reaches out from under the bar and fishes around till it finds the familiar shape of a gin bottle*

*Foot and bottle both vanish in a flash*

*A hand, 3 feet and 7 tentacles reach out from under the bar and fish around till they find the familiar shape of a gin bottle. A fight ensues.*

*They all vanish in a flash, and the sounds of fighting continue to come from under the bar... No, wait!... That's not fighting, that's... OMG!:eek:*

Nothing like a nice 4 mile run on a cold and frosty morning to warm the cockles of the heart. Now it’s time for a shower then brekky before going off for the careers convention.

Hope everyone is fine.
