The China Pearl Inn part 9

So happy for you Shiva, you deserve to be happy. Never forget you’re an honorary Lioness so the girls will raise a glass to you tonight.

O the cub is very active today!

Big decisions to make. Top Brass want me to consider moving to Washington after the baby is born and join up with SRR as a ‘Theatre Coordinator’. I don’t have to decide until I return after my maternity leave. It will mean promotion but I will be mainly desk bound! O decisions, decisions.

So it is decisions, decisions G G. Well I know you will give it serious consideration.

So a happy active cub to keep you on your toes. Perhaps a bit uncomfortable from time to time but none the less a happy time. ;)

Shiva you seem to be a very happy young lady today. That smile looks good on you.

Thanks very much! I always appreciate your wonderful kindness. I know you will be a great mom! I hope you will consider the promotion, could be very good money and you will need lots of that to raise a little one.

I am feeling very good. Gonna see someone special tomorrow on my own, home turf. I'm super excited!!

Glad for you Shiva. And tell whoever it is that you have NATO Forces in your camp. Any problems - I’ll send the girls over!

CG, Rick arrives tomorrow. We’ll talk about it.

I wish you all the best Shiva and I hope this weekend is all you hope for and more. :rose::kiss::rose:

Back in the UK to news I’ve been summoned to see ‘NRR Top Brass’ this afternoon. Meanwhile I’m being ‘kicked’ by the cub.

Sounds like the cub is going to be an athlete. World Cup in the future? :)

Washington state or Washington DC? Sounds like they were very impressed with how you did in Spain.

Have fun. :)

Settled in to our ‘home from home’ with my ‘Roomy’, (Sal), we are charged with the task of introducing the ‘virgins’ to OTS life. Next week we study ‘Military Discipline in the Battlefield’, should be interesting.

So pleased for Lt GG, I’ve served under her and I know how incredible she is. And I will never forget the reports from last winter when she was ready to use her body as a shield in an attempt to save the life of her patient. No one deserves recognition more than she does.

Ok tomorrow Sal and I have tickets for the Royal Albert Hall and ‘The Last Night Of The Proms’, that day we Brits celebrate our culture and our Britishness in music. Can’t wait!

Midnight 30 here. Time for all good girls to grab some sleep. Goodnight CG. Goodnight CPI - love you all.

She's right you know. Nothing gets past her. :D

I have been listening to a bit of cricket. Not really been out. You?

Went to pick up some groceries, couldn't avoid the sound of cicadas. According to the internet, cicadas only live about two weeks above ground making this 'mating' noise. But it sure seems like it has been longer than two weeks to me.

Some idiot with a camper didn't realize that he needed to allow for extra space between his trailer and my car when he moved in front of me. Good thing my car has brakes.

I remember hearing about some creature that has a seventeen year cycle - of which it spends most of the time underground, comes up, mates and the next lot wait another 17 years. Not sure what they are.

Good invention brakes. I remember being in Florida one time and people didn't seem to realize a bit of rain changes driving conditions. It's not as if it never rains there.

Those are cicadas. But there are several species and this type seems to come up every year.

Once upon a time, schools offered driver's training as a required class. But then there were massive cuts to the schools and that was one of the first things to go. I don't know who teaches people today how to drive, but they do a really lousy job of it!

From a few impressions it seems easier to get behind the wheel there than here. Nowadays people here have to take tests, a theory one and a practical and they can't drive without passing both, the practical being on roads with an examiner. Here, there are a lot of independent driving schools and instructors, it's not taught at all in state schools.

We have independent driving schools also, but I don't know the requirements to drive these days. But people seem to lack the basic rules. I sat at a stop light and watched people turn left. There were two lanes turning at the same time. The inside lane drove in the other direction's lane, the second lane cut into the inner lane, and people had to be careful not to get hit by them. It was crazy, they had no idea how to drive in their lane while making a turn.

It's an adventure out there :D

Well, I'd better disappear, see you soon.

My eyes will be glued to the TV tonight to look for Robyn & Sal at the Last Night Of The Proms. Last year Rick and I were there!

As an ignorant American, how does the LNotP "celebrate Britishness in music"? One can ask the same about some of the American holidays, traditions and all. Just curious. I hope you all enjoy!

Thank you to those who have asked after me. Like my WASP ancestors, I tend to get quiet when stressed. I will be fine.

XO
