Sienna! A soft smile a sensual kiss and a warm hug for an old friend.
"...So good to see you. So tell me what have you been up to. Still writing I hope."
Can I get you a coffee, tea or something stronger dear?
Thank you for that. I take it you are Canadian?A friend of mine posted this on a social media site. Thought I'd share.
Enjoy.
In ocean wastes no poppies blow,
No crosses stand in ordered row,
... There young hearts sleep... beneath the wave...
The spirited, the good, the brave,
But stars a constant vigil keep,
For them who lie beneath the deep.
'Tis true you cannot kneel in prayer
On certain spot and think. "He's there."
But you can to the ocean go...
See whitecaps marching row on row;
Know one for him will always ride...
In and out... with every tide.
And when your span of life is passed,
He'll meet you at the "Captain's Mast."
And they who mourn on distant shore
For sailors who'll come home no more,
Can dry their tears and pray for these
Who rest beneath the heaving seas...
For stars that shine and winds that blow
And whitecaps marching row on row.
And they can never lonely be
For when they lived... they chose the sea.
Ah. Well its a very touching piece nonetheless. No Aurantica, I grew up about 6 miles from the St Lawrence river in Northern NY. Would go to Ottawa for fun.
Thank you for the coffee my love. Thought I would just see if you are around and I am glad to see you are I don't write very much these days because as you may or may not know in the realms of reality, TRT and I finally tied the knot We are more than happy
I am still a regular in the Playground and when I can pop online My career kind of restricts when I am on or off.
It really is nice to see you again
That poem was very similar in cadence and content to a Canadian poem tied to our Remembrance day, called " In Flanders Fields". I haven't heard of Nov. 11th being a holiday in the US, though they obviously show a great deal of respect for their military.Aurantica, may I ask what brought you to think I was Canadian?
