So, I started making this unicorn almost 8 years ago... It was one of my first big projects after learning to crochet, and was intended to be a gift to my daughter on her first birthday. It got tucked on a shelf, and recently my daughter found it and brought it to me asking what it was and if I could finish it. So that's what I did this week. I finished it last night and tucked it into her bed with her last night while she slept. Her reaction this morning was everything I could have hoped for. 🥰

I know a little girl who had a birthday party yesterday.... She'd squeeze that Unicorn so tightly!!!

Love! You did such a good job on it!

This is absolutely adorable!!! 😍

I’m again reminded that I should learn to crochet non-square things. Maybe when I retire?

I made one of these Little Debbie Christmas tree cakes for my mother last year, but I'm not sure if I posted it or not. If I did, I'm sorry, but I'm doing it again, lol.

Nice! Looks like it would make a nice Christmas tree decoration. ☺️ I don’t remember you posting this before. I also had to google Little Debbie, and now I want cake.

Not much to report from me regarding crafts. I almost bought a crocheting kit to make an owl, but then I remembered that I’m incapable of making round things and reading instructions, so I didn’t buy it in the end. The owl was very cute, though. I really need to learn to do some 3D crocheting eventually!

I also got a couple of good whittling and carving knives from my dad when I last visited and now I’m thinking about starting to make something. I used to like it. I’ll need to relearn things about types of wood before embarking on that journey.

I’ve been chipping away at my blanket project, but the progress is so slow… I’ve now finished 106 squares, which sounds like a lot but actually it’s a teeny tiny little pile (in the pic). And by finished I mean that there is no extra yarn hanging from those 106 squares. I also have crocheted, but not finished, around 50 squares on top of that pile. The goal is 567, so I still have ways to go.

I’m fairly certain I won’t finish the blanket by summer at this rate, but it’s okay as long as I keep making even some progress, however slow it might be… I don’t want this to become another abandoned project. 😅

The pic is a bit dark and the colors are off (hello winter), but there’s a pic of the yarn taken in the summer somewhere in this thread if someone is interested in the actual colors.
Edit: here’s the pic
