No, I meant: How many of those notes you recieve are real. How many are from real people, instead of you making them up and sending notes to yourself. Is that clearer now?

Don't fool yourself. Who among us has slandered others? Who has told lies that have been disproved, and still can't admit to them? Who started this thread, and started dozen of others just like it, all insultuous in nature, with the sole purpose
of raising a climate of open war in the forum? Take a very deep and careful look at yourself and see the kind of hateful, hypocritical person you are, before you direct an insult at anyone else.

You're not improving, Art. You could be improving if you did what you say, if you asked to learn, if you read and commented, but you spend all your time running around chasing witches.

Go read that thread, you brushed the issues under the rug so fast it was burried there, I let it go because....I wanted peace in the forum knowing nothing will change the past... simple logic..


here is the thread...that shows what goes on here and before you state it, it shows a person upset and yes I know your going to say they need to edit and get better at writing but....you don't seem to find compassion for these type people....also another was ladyshianne when YDD slapped her poem and I was up late making her feel better then wrote the poem YDD and then began YDD's and I's conversations till she left...but it wasn't because of me it was because she died

that is pure idocy, I don't make things up, ask laurel to tell you how many I recieved today and the titles maybe that you will believe, I have nothing to hide so I don't mind.

I do not know what you mean by damage I cause...to who. I am a helpful poet here. with a lot of support, I will find that list and then like your list we have two lists of people who left...but I promise I didn't cause them to leave, it was the harsh views and critiques here. Who left because of my views on critics or poetry....no one lauren that is absurd ...<grin> your list states people that have never met me or seen me, those that have are still here, half your list...is still here and most are those harsh critics. Who don't give a flying thought as to what I think.

Art, I didn't leave for any one reason. I've been back a little because it's hard to just completely walk away after 4 years. (Oh my god! That long?) Today, I saw a thread that made me cringe and want to take another long break. I'm sorry, but that ball bouncing thread is embarrassing, in my opinion. I don't think it looks good on the board. I'd hate for a novice poet, who actually comes here to discuss poetry, to see it and think that's all we're about. The play thread seems like such a flirt thread, and I can't tell the difference between it and the ball thread. I know we've all talked about it before. We all flirt and chat but most of us stop after a little bit and get back to poetry. The play and ball threads (even though there is some poetry/"poetry" there) they seem to just go on and on with flirting. Like I said, the ball thread is embarrassing, and back years ago we were so much more about poetry than what the board is like today. It's such a shame.

I think some new poets leave because they are scared or upset or angered by criticism. It's difficult at first. Personally, I like to be gentle at first, or at least, try. Then get some idea of what the poet wants or needs. I do like to make suggestions. I hate to see a poet make such bad but easily fixed mistakes. It's a shame not to tell them. And I can try as hard as I can to be nice about it, but some people just freak when they get less than praise. We have some poets here who really know poetry and most have given up trying to teach new poets a thing. Art, sorry again, but you don't make it easy. You have a following. I've talked with you once before about this. You have people who look up to you. Don't discourage them from the critics and the critiques. Help them be strong and accept constructive feedback. That's how they'll grow and improve. Yeah. They'll grow and they'll grow away from you, perhaps. Kind of like kids. I take more time now to read and observe this place. Yes, you do some good, but in some ways, you are part--only part--of the problem here.
Here is a suggestion, and I do mean only a suggestion. Take a step back for a little while and really see what's going on around here. I don't know, but it could be beneficial to you. I've learned now to just back away when I get bugged about something going on here. And if your balls continue to slap me every time I come to the board, then I may just back up far enough to keep them out of my face.

I have spent 4 years here, and I did love this place. I've never seen it this bad--and I was here before we even had a poetry board. We used to be poetry and story feedback. We've come a long way, and now we're going in the opposite direction. I'm not happy here. I come here out of habit. I come here to try to help with the mod thing. It's no one person's fault. Just so much has gone wrong and keeps getting worse. Maybe it's time we all decide what kind of future we want our poetry community to have. I want to laugh and talk and write poetry, but I don't want to keep seeing balls. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, but I don't. Maybe I just have a thing about threads like that. I don't want all this fighting. I don't want all these poets freaking out over crits and having someone there backing them up like they should have nothing but praise!

You make a great job at that without my help. And you're skipping a lot of posts, a lot of things are being said by plenty of people that you are just ignoring. Why is that?

Why aren't any of them posting here, supporting this view of yours? Because there is a very old saying, that you have never heard of, but they understand well: "Amicus Plato, sed magis amica veritas." I love Plato, but I love the truth even more.

I agree, and as one of the "unknown moderators" I state that if this thread continues in the same vein it is presently on, I will delete it and ask the webmasters to give a "time-out" to the major players on both sides!

Give it a break and go back to writing and discussing poetry.
