The "Fuck you cancer!" thread

Yes yes yes!!!! So grateful for your good news Mouse!
And shoes too. Shopping therapy. :)

My good news is 2fold~ they have revised mom's chemo from 36 months to only 12. (Thank God a specialist expert most high weighed in), and this 3rd restart of chemo after her toxic lung reaction is going better than anyone dared hope.
Only 5 more months to go.
FYC

Fingers and toes crossed. That is great news!!! :rose:

Yayyy!!!! Very good news...still keeping her in my prayers because 5 months is still hard but very happy her treatments have been reduced....

"Dammitdammitdammit" update...

It wasn't cancer; thank goodness.

Apparently, very rarely, pneumonia will form a highly concentrated group of cells instead of spreading out and making itself comfy. And those rare, highly concentrated pneumonia cells happen to respond to PET scans just enough like stage 1 large cell carcinoma... That its mistaken for large cell carcinoma.

A couple rounds of antibiotics would have been an easier fix than the whole major surgery/rib-spreader stuff (none were broken, thankfully), but better safe than sorry, and cancer-free is cancer-free.

And my stress-shopping resulted in s couple of new stilettos... So... Yeah.

(So glad he's okay. We aren't lovers anymore, but that doesn't mean I don't expect him to stick around and not die for another 30 years or so...)

Very good news...no cell suckers here...makes me smile just thinking of your relief....

Did someone mention stilettos...lol?

Keep up the courageous work! And remember, with each treatment...you kick cancer's ass just a little bit more!!!!! FUCK YOU CANCER!!!!! :rose::rose::rose:

Thank you cascadiabound....appreciate the positivity...

And remember to do things, small things that make you feel better. Wear a color that makes you feel happy, or sit curled up in your favorite chair just holding a mug that reminds you of someone you love as you sip a beverage you can tolerate.

Forgive yourself for not being able to do everything you used to do. Your main job right now is to kick cancers ass and that is real work.
Gratefully accept offers of help when offered. These are gifts people WANT to give you, not burdens to them.
Sending you hugs of care and vibes of positive energy.

Thanks Elle and Gianbattista....

It's been FIVE YEARS (!) since my melanoma surgery! For a while I had monthly full-body scans, then for a long time, quarterly, then twice a year. My doc is now graduating me to yearly scans!

I'm happy with that.

FYC!
