Tremendously grateful tonight for his patience (longsuffering? ) with me, his willingness to accept me wholly, flawed as I am, for his tenderness and compassion toward me when I am hurting, and his steadfastness of spirit.

I am grateful for friendship. I know that sounds lame and cheesed as fuck but it also feels quite true today. I get so caught up in everything that you can neglect those people that fill you up by just being around. Thanks to the good friends we don't see often enough.

I started volunteering at the VA. I push people who cant get around from one appointment to the next, usually only spending a few minutes with them. Today, I had time to spend with an Army vet who described a particular moment in Vietnam in 1969 - and how that experience shaped his faith.

I'm grateful for our vets, especially those who served in combat.
