LMAO. I was inspired by The Dresden Files. Jim Butcher's narration as Harry Dresden, a magical/paranormal consultant for the Chicago PD and Warden for the White Court of Wizards, is quite hilarious. While watching his friend Michael, a Knight of the Cross, head off to fight demons, Harry thinks "Have sword, will travel. Hi-yo, Silver. Away!" Some of the things he says and thinks are just hilarious. Never has a book made me laugh out loud multiple times in the first few chapters.

Okay, Jeff. Just wanted to warn you that I'm again upgrading my computer. Not right now, but as soon as I have the money. 45 dollars plus shipping for a motherboard. 20 dollars for a 2 GB stick of DDR2-667. When I do that, I'm going to be switching Operating systems. This time, and I hate to say this myself, it will be Vista. The reason is simple. Though XP Pro X64 is a far better operating system in most ways, the problem is that there's very little support for the Virtual 32bit console it uses to run XP programs. meaning even though it CAN run them, it won't because they won't even install due to a lack of 32 bit system info. The board I'm getting is tested at up to 4 GB total in two sticks....but it "may" support up to 8 GB per slot. Hence my choice for it with Vista.

the version I'll be using is a Lite Ultimate version recommended by some gamer friends of mine. it runs on about 256 meg of memory, as opposed to the standard 512 (though it runs better with 512 than even XP would). I'll also be learning how to hack it to make it better/less cluttered/more functional/less accessible

Well, I need 220 to get net set up, so it may be a while... Anyone wanna send donations to the No Jeffinator Left Offline Foundation? I got totally drunk the other night. Seventeen shots of Ten High and Black Velvet (whiskey), with Mountain Dew Revolution for chasers. I was drunk AND on a caffeine high. A bunch of us were playing drinking games, and while we were playing this one game called Moose (you throw quarters into an ice cube tray, and various rules apply based on where the quarter lands), I ended up with a five shot penalty. Rather, I had to take five shots. There was a little bit left in one of the bottles, and I held it up and asked everyone "Hey, guys, does this look like five shots-worth to you?" they said yes and I showed up all those veteran drinkers by downing the five shots of whiskey in one go. I just started gulping that shit till it was empty, followed by half a can of MD Revolution. They were all like "OOOHH!!!" and "DAAAAAAMN!!!" LMAO.

It was a fun night, but then this girl ended up on my bed, and then she fucking threw up. On my bed. Fucking bitch. Lol. So, yeah, I slept in my recliner, lol. Next morning, she woke up, and I lugged all my bedding down to the wash in a plastic bag. Then she passed back out on my living room floor. She would be hot if she didn't smoke and her teeth weren't all yellow. So don't worry, girls, your Jeffinator is still a virgin, LMAO.

I'm done drinking for a while, though. I woke up with a terrible headache the next morning at like 5am. Then I found out one of the guys that came to the party was underage because his mom showed up at my apartment door. Fucking great. One of the party-goers that left instead of staying the night had to have ratted us out, given away the location of the party. Mother fucking pussy bitch. LMAO. I told all those mother fuckers we were to keep my apartment on the DL as far as party spots. Now that the word is out that there was underage drinking at my party, I was like, "No more parties at my place, dudes. A bitch throws up on my bed, everyone was too loud, I had a BAD hangover, people lied about their ages, and now some pissed off mother shows up at my door. The party was fun as fuck, but too many bad things happened. From now on, we're partying at someone else's place."

You know a girl is your friend when she refers porn to you, hehe. Man, I'm on the next book in the Dresden Files, and damn is it funny. Never has a book series made me laugh out when I'm all by myself on so many occasions. I need to start from the beginning. I read Proven Guilty and am now reading White Night, which are books 8 and 9, respectively. There are 10 books, with book 11 coming out in April.

Proven Guilty has Harry Dresden on a case where movie monsters are coming to life at SplatterCon, a horror convention, and killing people. The entire book takes place within two days -- three if you count the day they lost while in the Faerie world -- They had to follow the movie monsters into the Nevernever, a shadow world where Faeries also live. While they fought to rescue Molly Carptenter, the daughter of Harry's best friend, only a few hours passed in Nevernever, but when they returned to Chicago, twenty-four hours had passed.

White Night takes place a year or so later, and Harry is on a case of multiple murders -- all Wiccans, all magic users. His investigations over several days lead him to realize a power struggle between the White Court of Vampires. That's where I am right now in the book.

The White Court are like Incubi or Succibi -- they feed off life energy. The Raith are sexual predators and feed on lust, the Malvora are tormentors and feed on fear, and the Skavis are manipulators and feed on pain and despair. Most of the killings were from Skavis manipulating thoughts of Wiccan females to kill themselves, feeding off their despression, all in an attempt, it is realized, to lessen the odds of future Wizards being born.

Right now, there is a war between the White Council of Wizards and the Red Court of Vampires. The Reds are humanoid vampire bats who can take human form. The White Council enforces the Seven Laws of Magic, and has two main bodies -- the Senior Council, and the Wardens. Harry is a Warden and the regional commander of a portion of the USA. He also consults for the Chicago PD Special Investigations unit. He has a giant temple dog named Mouse, and a magic white skull named Bob who is centuries old. He also has a fallen angel named Lasciel trapped in his head who takes the form of a young, attractive woman to try and tempt his darker side. Well, she's only a shadow, really. He's nicknamed her Lash. Her true form is trapped in a roman coin, and when Harry touched it to save Molly's youngest brother from touching it, Lasciel imprinted her shadow, a sort of physic clone, in Harry's mind to try and tempt him to release her from her prison. Harry buried the coin, and over the last several years, Lash is steadily seperating from her true self, not the same evil being she used to be.

So between Mouse, Bob, and Lash, he's got some good advisers. He also calls upon the Queens and Knight of the Summer Court of Faeries from time to time. In Nevernever, there is lots of open area, and then Summer and Winter. The Faeries of each are at war, and have been for a long time. Their actions effect the weather in the real world. Queen Mab wants to destroy the Summer Court and cast the world into eternal Winter, me thinks.

Anyway, at this rate, I won't have net till November 20th, cuz of some shit and that's when I'll be out of debt. I love you guys and can't wait to be online again.

Well, I'm over at my friend Dale's house, using his wifi. Actually, he's my soon to be roommate. He's got a second bedroom and bathroom and asked me if I wanted to move in. This way, we'll both be able to save enough money to get some kick ass gaming rigs. Within a few sort months, I'll have a new laptop, big screen TV, X-Box 360, etc. Then I will start saving up for a kick ass gaming desktop. I'll save a shitload of money living here rather than paying rent and utilities for an apartment by myself. I'm moving in around the beginning of November, then I'll be online everyday .

I have a guide. Rather, an edition of PC Gaming Hardware Magazine that tells the best parts to buy and assemble for the best gaming rig at a reasonable price. It tells you what to buy step by step, starting with the motherboard and going to the processor, ram, and video card. It doesn't give one design either, it has various options for various budgets.

DAMN. Dale is playing his guitar, and he's fucking jaming out. He's playing some Metallica guitar riffs. He's fucking awesome. The entire floor is vibrating, he's got his amp turned way up. I'm all headbanging and shit too.

better to research the capabilities yourself, and then search the internet for the best prices. AMD has the best high end processors....a quad core Phenom Black edition (the quad core equivalent of Intel's Core2Extreme) at 5.1 GHz is only about 200 dollars....that's right...about the same price as a regular Core2Duo. The board's less expensive too
