The Lounge's Autumn Escape

somehow sprawls into existence, her frame faithfully and casually molded along one of those spindly fingers, with a winking silver flask dangling from her own sly ones.

I mean, whiskey feels warm going down. And I think it fits the bill for the last part of your wish. I guess I'm some kind of demented autumn sprite, bearing, uh...

She takes a swig and drops it down to Serps, idly picking twigs and leaves from the den of her auburn hair.

Libations? Or something.

Faded black denim clings to the legs that stride through the leaves, a pashmina of rich forest green wrapped around her neck and bouncing with each step.

"Now. Do my ears deceive me, or are there friends here among the trees...?" she calls out merrily as she approaches the pair.

Takes the flask from Tess' fingers with a wide smile, her head tilting at the sound of another familiar voice

Well well, this place is full of witches and sprites this evening, isn't it.

A huge grin lights up her face, her heart warmed by two friends.

It's wonderful to see you both.

Takes a drink and offers the flask to Brit.

Takes the flask with a wink of a blue eye and lifts the container towards them both in a wordless toast.

"I wouldn't usually, but I feel as if someone would want me to, and so I shall." A grin and then a mouthful is taken. A long breath let out slowly as the heat slips down her throat.

"It's lovely to be seen, I can assure you! And how is everyone?"

swings down from her parlous hiding place and manages to land upright, somehow.

It's a Witchy time of year, that's for sure. Quite a favorite.

She embraces them both, squeezing Brit's hand with a warm and gentle grip as she releases her.

Busy, busy, busy. Don't busy bees go to sleep this time of year? I wish.

Deep pockets are good for fingers while kicking around leaves with safely booted feet, and she probably looks ungainly as she pursues the activity with some enthusiasm.

Should I bust out my pumpkin cart yet, do you think? You two have any designs in mind?

Returns the hug as warmly as it is given and squeezes her hand in kind.

"The busy never really stops, as least I don't think it does, it just...changes now and then to a new kind of busy."

Her back finds an obliging tree trunk and she leans back with a happy sigh.

"And yes! Definitely time for pumpkins. I already have my plans in place for this year's Hallowe'en extravaganza." She finishes in a conspiratorial whisper, the effect of which is completely ruined by the 'jazz hands' that accompany her announcement. "Lots of pumpkins will be needed, I can promise you that."

It's coming into my favourite time of the year too, when all the colours change and the air nips at you a little. I like things that nip.

She crosses her legs at the ankle and watches Tess kick the leaves about, before lifting a smiling face to Brit

I'm good. Trawling the Internet these days for wedding venues. Autumn friendly ones. I'm thinking this time next year. Octoberish.

"Ooooh!" She grins excitedly. "I got married in October, it's a gorgeous time to be wed."

"We got married a week before Hallowe'en, almost seven years ago now," She smiles wistfully, thinking back.

"I do love weddings!"

Grins widely, hugging herself

I'm so glad you liked the dress. Why can't you live in America so you can come photograph and make merry with us...

pouts

"Believe me, if I thought I could get over there for a reasonable price, my camera and I wouldn't miss it for the world!"

She smiles genuinely.

"You're going to look absolutely beautiful, not least of all because of how happy he obviously makes you. Lucky chap that he is."

catches both the comment about nips and the jazz hands and snickers as she continues to kick leaves into a large and ominous pile.

A fall wedding does sound nice. Everything ramps up in fall, doesn't it? The holidays aren't far away, everything just seems more... eventful. Odd how that works, spring is usually busier for me.

Sneezes and mutters about lingering colds.

What were your wedding colors, Brit? Is that something they do over there? Or for you, Serps? Why do I feel like I asked you this already? Argh.

And -

She pauses, hunting around for tissues in her loose brown sweater.

- Brit's gotta stay in the Great White North, because otherwise we wouldn't have any pictures of the aurora! Absolutely gorgeous.

"It is." She nods fervently in answer to Tess' question. "I had chocolate brown and gold as the colours with creamy-ivory in there too. I wore a champagne coloured dress and my bridesmaids were in these gorgeous brown dresses."

"And yes, the Lights will keep me where I am for the most part...but I'm sure I could squeeze in a quick visit over 'The Pond'."

Ohh, those colors sound nice. Warm, soft. I love ivory. White can be so clinical but ivory just rounds everything out.

She tucks away her tissue and smiles at Brit.

Of course, visits! And the pictures you take anytime, anywhere, are wonderful. You're the best possible person to take such important photos. Serps, you're going to look absolutely beautiful. Time's going by at a quick clip - it'll be the day of before you know it!

I haven't got colours yet. My dress is ivory, and I think my little flower girl's dress will be the same. I haven't decided if I'm having a bridesmaid yet or not. I'm so hard at making decisions it's unreal. We found a lovely chapel, but recently I found a gorgeous gazebo in a forest park and I've contacted them to see if they facilitate weddings.

picks up a leaf and gazes at it's burnt colour

All I know is that I want a weird and unusual cake. And possibly paper flowers made out of the pages of books or music paper.

"Thanks, lovely," she beams proudly at Tess' compliment of her photos.

"And unusual cakes can be ever so much fun, ours was really simple but there are some incredibly cool ideas out there."

As Mac approaches the edge of the forest he can see fire light dancing across the tree trunks, like forest spirits jumping from tree to tree carefully watching those sat in the circle of light.
Emerging from the tree line he gives his jacket a shake, dislodging the last of the pine needles, delving into his pocket he retrieves his sporran flask and offers a nip of Whisky to those that would like some.
He then settles with his back to a log listening to the others making plans and reminiscing.

A woman peeks out from around a tree. She is tall, middle aged, and has grey in her brown hair. A crocheted orange shawl is wrapped around her shoulders.

"Excuse me," she asks timidly. "I'm new around here; really new. I've been wandering around the larger, fearsome Literotica bulletin boards for a while now, and the smell of the burning campfire brought me close."

She looks around carefully.

"Your secluded hideaway is very comfortable and homey. I'm Boxerwing, by the way. I'm unsure if I am welcome here?"

She looks up at the sound of a new voice and smiles warmly.

"Hi there! Do come closer to the fire if you'd like, the air is a little cool today," she adds another log to the merrily burning campfire while she speaks, "Everyone is welcome here and it's always lovely to see new faces. I'm Britwitch but most people call me Brit, pleasure to meet you."

"Can I get you anything? It won't take too long to heat up some water for a tea or coffee? If you'd prefer something stronger there's almost always someone around here with something hidden away." She winks a bright blue eye at her latest acquaintance.

I'm always late to the party, aren't I?

*Sighing softly as I look about for familiar faces.*

No doubt I was bewitched as I struggled along the serpentine pathways leading to this place.

*Settling down in a chair and curling up to a good book.*

giggles and hugs a much loved friend over the side of her chair

"There's no such thing as 'late', lovely, not between friends. It's wonderful to see you here, regardless of when you arrived. Hope you like it!"

*Squeals with delight at her friends' warm hug and returns it with equal entusiam.*

I absolutely love it! But then, you always manage to conjure up the most beautiful places.

I've been gone too long... I know I keep saying it, but it's true.

*Casting a smile in her friends direction.* This seems a perfect spot to come back to.

Also, did I hear someone mention pumpkins before? And the Halloween party too? *bounces somewhat excitedly* I already know what I'm coming as this year... is it sad that a I've known since February?

"You did!" Brit bounces back just as eagerly. "I'll be setting up the Hallowe'en thread very soon and there will be pumpkins aplenty." She waggles her eyebrows excitedly.

"I haven't decided on my costume yet but I can't wait to see what everyone else wears. Your lovely self included of course. I love Hallowe'en!"

Given that they seem to be trying out one of the cabins for the first time, Brit chucks another log onto the fire and considers making hot chocolate.

I am more than certain your costume will be beautiful as always. Though I'm curious to see how you'll manage to top last year's venue.

*Moving closer to the fire, warming my hands in front of its heat.*

There again, you topped yourself with this place; so I'm sure the party will be a breeze. And I know how much you love Hallowe'en. *giggles*

It's probably as much as I love fall... *frowns a little in amusement* Which is some weird nostalgia thingie because we don't have fall here. *shrugs happily and winks playfully* Maybe it's a remnant of another life.

"Awww, thanks, lovely!" She blushes happily. "Always seems a shame not to make the most of the chance to really dress up!"

"And while last year's venue was amazing and worked out even better than I'd hoped, all I can say is...this year's venue? Will be very, very different and definitely on the spooky side."

She allows herself a wicked chuckle although the freckles and sparkling eyes don't really make for an entirely convincing evil expression to go with it.

*Giggling uncontrollably at Brit's "evil-ish" laughter. Before gasping out between steadying breaths* Well good then! Spooky might well suit my costume even better!

*Wiggling and lifting my eyebrows excitedly.*
