The New Isolated Blurt BDSM Thread

Thanks. I've even participated in the thread, but didn't remember it.

So looks like he's participated here at least a few times before. :)

I still think it would have been good form to at least let us know we have a new mod like it has been alway done in the past. I only noticed it when the posts started disappearing.

Edit: No wonder I didn't remeber ever seeing the mod's username here. He used a different one when he started the thread Iris linked to. :)

Agree.

What thread lost posts?

NOOOOOOOO! I didn't mean to, I swear!
I was mostly kidding. :)

It was a very thankless job that I did diligently for a very long time, and I burned out. But that doesn't mean I don't wish someone else would pick up the reins. I'm not sure we have that now, frankly.

I always think it helps if you know your mods.

Even though my cross over with Etoile :rose: was not so long, her occasional participation let people know she is 'human'.

I think maybe the new mod is a mod on other boards where he might be more active...I have seen posts, I am sure.
Either that, or I'm a really well constructed chatbot. ;)

But yeah, I think it's important to actually care about the topic you're moderating. Not that a lot of stuff I did as mod involved BDSM itself (besides recognizing what was Talk vs Cafe), but I do what it is that we do myself, so it's important to me. I want a tidy board to discuss my interests. And I was part of the community for years and years.

Actually, as I recall, I joined in 2000 for BDSM Talk, became GLBT Chatter mod when it was created in 2003, and continued to be active in both forums. I don't think I became BDSM mod until, um...2008? Then I continued to be active for a few more years before fading out of the conversation and just doing mod duties, but it was always important to me that this be a good place to talk.

It's good to have you here as forum member ( and for me some one to learn from ) . Also, from the small bit I see, you seem at peace with this decision, :rose:
Thank you. :)

And yes, very much so. I wanted to quit for a long, long time before I did. I was sour on the mod duties for a couple of years, maybe, before I finally stepped down. I am much happier now that I have, and you'll notice I'm even poking my nose in more often now. :)

Nope. It was just Primalex being his snarky self and replies to his post.

He deleted Primalex's posts?! Oh hell no. That's the free speech stuff, you can't delete people for that. Somebody get on the horn to Laurel.

I was surprised to see the post disappear. We've had much harsher disagreements here before.

Oh, that's interesting.^^ I originally complained because one of my posts was removed in that whole exchange. Apparently, if a post is deleted anything quoting it goes down too. So several users were affected and posts that were actually good for discussion were tossed out.

Blargh. Yes, if something needs to be deleted, you delete its quote from corresponding posts. But squabbles shouldn't be deleted, and only the quoted/relevant parts from other posts should be impacted by any deletions.

Hmm, good memories. Makes me think...who have we had around here, all the good flounces over the years. Dollparts is the only name coming to mind.

The only one I remember ever pushing buttons to the point of cyber-banishment was good ol' ~smile~ whatshisface.

*shudder*

I'm pretty sure Laurel gives fewer than zero shits at this point. I remember some pretty lame decisions she herself has made, too.

I have recently found great pleasure in building forms and worksheets. A table here, a check box there, some shaded cells makes me happy.

I think the level of my weirdness is now cemented.

You're not alone. I think MS Access is fun.

Well, if we are going to get deleted for snark or not giving people the answers they were looking for, most of us can count on being deleted.

The dinner was amazing and completely worth every cent I spent on it. It's not so often I feel like that walking out of a restaurant, but now the four course dinner felt like a bargain. :)

-Onion broth flavoured with fermented garlic, roasted and caramelized onion
-Broad beans "nordic hummus", seeds, sprouts and fermented buckwheat bread
-Reindeer "ragout", dried reindeer heart, lappish potato and preserved lingonberries
-Carrot sorbet with goat milk and cream flavoured with roasted barley
