The NEW UK Kink Thread

McDonalds is NOT REAL FOOD! :)

The amount of wrk I am doing in London is getting higher and higher and its killing me in travel time and costs. I did the maths and I can afford to pay for rent somewhere outside the M25 and a season ticket to the city centre and still make slightly more than I do now... and I've managed to wangle a not insignificant increase in my day rate as well.

It's looking more likely today as I got a mail back saying what I had suggested was ok in principal so potentially in 4-8 weeks I'll be moving down. Going to have a chat with the guy on Tuesday and iron out the details but I need to start looking at fine details now.

So while the South is terrifying as a Northerner, I spend enough time there already and it will benefit me financially, socially, physically and mentally. It will be a shame to leave some of the remaining friends I have up here... but I will make new ones easily enough especially if i'm working something close to regular hours.

Don't worry! The South isn't so terrifying, as long as you stay away from the M25, the London Tube, and arguments about whether dinner is the same as lunch or tea. ;)
.

I'm sorry you're having such a tough time of it - reminds me of my life a few years ago.

So don't ever hold back from having a vent on here or the blurt thread of the cancer thread - you can say all those things you can't say in real life, and there will always be support from your friends here :rose:

It is so hard to see those we love in pain. Hang in there x

Thank you both it's so hard, I was soo frighten yesterday as I had to rush dad to the doctors he was in soo much pain it was awful... The worst thing there was absolutely nothing I could do to help him... 😢😢😢 hate seeing him like this... I'm so sorry if you have been through similar LallyH it's bloody awful... I suffer with depression so at the moment it's not very good, but I'm trying to stay as positive as I can for my dad and Mom as my poor mom is taking it hard..

Anyway hope everyone has a fabulous bank holiday, I have a horse show to look forward too, hopefully try and take my mind of things for half a day... Thank you your all so lovely. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

The Tube and M25 will be constants in my days I think... And Dinner is the main meal of the day, to be taken at any time. Lunch is the meal at the middle of the day, tea is the meal at the end of the day. Either can be dinner depending on which is the bigger.

Argument ended!

Now wait until you spend 2 hour listening to a discussion about which is the correct order for the items on a cream scone! that can get heated ;)

Oh Belle what have you started? ;) Clearly it is breakfast, lunch and dinner. Except on Sunday's when dinner is at lunch time. Tea is what people call dinner when they can't be bothered to make anything.p

And its butter, jam and then cream. Totally. :D

I propose we begin renewing gladiatorial combat to settle this meal chronology dispute.

Hehehe, might still come to that :) With cream scones to throw. Mmmm.

Here is the aforementioned MasterNick59, owner of LucyBee01, crunching into the forum. Btw, I've been present as a reader on Lit for years, under a different handle. First post....

Of course, as a Scot, Dinner is High Tea (not sure if there is a Low Tea!), Shall we confuse the lovely Belle even more?

I'm guessing a debate between "milk first" and "cereal/tea first" also exists...?

You poor guy. You really don 't cook. ;) Scones are great.....freshly baked.

{butting into the UK thread from the wrong side of the pond...}

indeed yes - freshly made scones fresh from the oven are heaven - melt in your mouth and hardly need anything on them at all.
of course clotted cream and jam are lovely.

I make my own from scratch - super easy.
oh my - yum.

Do you ever make savoury scones? They can be a nice thing to have with soup if you do not care to make bread. Cheddar and Apple for example, lifts a winter soup, the Apple adds some tender freshness.

I LOVE making cheesy scones with sundried tomatoes or a hint of chilli
Num num ^^

yes I do. Herb scones or cheesy scones.
cheese and apple together sounds wonderful. I shall have to try that.
oh oh oh ~ ~ ~ makes me want to make scones in the morning. :rose:
