*stands in front of the fireplace for a bit in hopes of drying off before settling down on a couch to catch up with some writing*

Returning after fending off the rains while tending the grill, a bit damp but not as soggy as before, I see that Mari has retired for the evening and Angel is on her regular couch.

"Nite honey... glad you're feeling a bit better.. Sweet dreams."

Sitting in my regular chair near the couches. "Hey trouble, I've been working on a reply for you that I hope to have finished shortly. Other than soggy, how's by you today?"

Hey there, partner... Busy day again... First TKD class for me in a week and they tried to kick my arse! More TKD classes for the kids, then more housework... Then I had to run around the yard to get the mowing in before it rained. So of course the rain held off until it was time for our puppy pack with lights flicking for such a nice effect.

The icing on the cake was catching my foot on the stupid lounge wear I have to wear to be Mommy-rated and now I'm trying to figure out if I broke my damn toe.

*dimples forming in both cheeks*

Imagining what her version of Mommy-rated lounge wear might entail I smile.

"Well I'm sorry about your toe, that sucks big time. I had a fairly good day all in all, even with a trip to Target thrown in the mix. I heard a commercial on the radio for Christmas and about drove off the road in a fit of rage, but I got to have a long phone conversation with my best friend, so that more than made up for it.

I did get to dodge, dip, duck, dive and dodge the lightening while my steaks were cooking, but I managed to get everything on the table at the same time and hot, so I'll chalk it up as a win. Other than that it's been pretty slow.

Tomorrow I get to tackle Mt. Laundry and do my domestic duties... Yeaaaaaa... Go me!"

A Christmas ad, already? Sheesh.... Course I realized this evening that we still have mistletoe up from last year in the foyer.

Am trying to energize the kids into getting everything we wanted to get done before Daddy's return done since I think he comes home in two weeks.

And I'll tell ya what rates as Mommy-rated doesn't stay on once kids are in bed....

"On the bright side I now have another store to symbolically boycot for marketing stupidity. Though I never shop there anyway."

My current strategy is alternating between picking for a chore bowl and a 'play' bowl... So that they're not totally bogged down with nothing but work.

I may need to do the same for myself... Play #1 - Craft response to Nightcap, #2 - Get lost for 20 minutes in Veroe's picture threads, etc...

The work bowl, play bowl is an interesting idea. I might try that with my employees... Choosing from this bowl get you paid.. choosing from that bowl doesn't.
