Did you not know it was him? Someone put it on twitter when he was originally arrested, but I think he was so distressed they were concerned that he may commit suicide if his name was revealed publicly. Don't know what's changed.

I hadn't heard that. My childhood is falling apart again.

If johnny Ball or Tony Hart gets got as well i might as well just give up now.

They seem to be saying that its not connected to the Savile enquiry so you'd hope the issue was with an adult. I read somewhere else (probably twitter again so I can't say it has any connection with truth) that he'd written to the complainant to apologise for whatever it was he'd done.

We were discussing this at work this morning, and how it seems that these enquiries seem to be putting today's standards on things that happened years ago when what was deemed acceptable was different. I remember when I first started work at a steel company in Sheffield having to walk through the welding shop and having to field a whole host of verbal and physical shenanigans. It just wouldn't be tolerated today but then if I'd complained I'd have been laughed at. Not saying it was right, because I found it mortifying, but it was the way it was. No real harm was meant by the men concerned and its pointless trying to judge it now.

Alas, people do seam to think you can apply today's rules to yesterday's behaviour as you said. And PC has potentially gone a little bit too far though I can see the positive side of it too.

One of the men here used to work at a large local printing company, dissolved years ago, that used to produce railway timetables. The finishing department was a large warehouse, staffed mainly by women. Any new young male apprentice would be sent in on some pretext and the women would relieve them of every item of clothing and send them back stark naked.....

Beautiful day here in the south!
I want to take off my clothes and run around naked, wouldn't that give the neighbours a fright! Seriously though it is so long since I have felt the sun on my body, I crave it :)

Sunny up here too! Husband and son have headed off to Hillsborough to watch Sheffield Wednesday lose....daughter and I are heading off to Manchester so she can spend all my money!

Fine thanks. Just been for a run so looking forward to a cool shower.

Had a good time in Manchester yesterday although now daughter has discovered Forbidden Planet and Afflecks Palace, my bank account took a hammering! Still, I'm happy that she wants to spend her time at geek central - they seem a charming bunch :)
 
Discovered that both kids have had a growth spurt, so have just spent a small fortune in Next and H&M kids so they won't walk around with half mast trousers. Damn clothes are expensive!
 
I keep threatening to stop feeding mine if they don't stop growing. My daughter's only 12 and she's taller than me :(
 
They both eat like its their last meal! My 6yr old eats more than me and is perpetually hungry. I have no idea where she puts it, she is like a rake! Well she burns it off, 2 miles on the wii fit this morning, seriously!
 
I feel sorry for my folks. I kept growing and growing and growing.

I finally stopped at 6' 7"

And yay for a new generation of geeks :)
 
6' 7" ? Glad I don't have that problem!

And the geeks are great. I overheard one conversation between two lads which consisted entirely of 'Game of Thrones, dude. Just. Wow. Game of Thrones' accompanied by a lot of awed head shaking....

I'm just happy with a simple blended, brewed strong ish, in a pint mug.

I'm fairly simple when it comes to tea. but it has to be tea. :)
