Evening everyone, old and new.

Delays travelling back meant a 17 hour journey in all, missing a night's sleep because of the time difference, so the jet lag is tough at the moment. That said, we had a great time with wonderful weather, and although i still had to do some work most days, I'm grateful that we were able to go.

And as this is my 1000th post, I'd like to say thanks to all the good friends I've made on here since my first post only a few months ago (I know - its a bit of a cheat racking up the post count with word games, but I enjoy them ). Hope those of you that are happy remain so, and that those of you that are still seeking, find what you are looking for.

And of course, special mention to M who has been missed very much whilst I've been away - it's good to be back home x

The plane we were due to get on had been delayed on the way out because someone had been taken ill and had to be taken off. Then there were thunderstorms at Vegas so take offs were stopped, causing a backlog. So we arrived late at Manchester, the taxi that was meant to collect us had returned to base, and then when he set out again, there'd been an accident which brought the motorway to a standstill so he was very late collecting us. All a bit of a pain on top of an overnight flight on a plane full of drunken, unfunny, ignorant, loud Welshmen who prevented any chance of rest

Hope you aren't feeling too zombiefied! I hate the feeling that goes with sleep deprivation. Coffee is just not the answer

We are off thursday week, can't wait! I just hope we get some sun.
I have to come back for a day to do an interview, sods law its in the middle of my holiday, but I need a good job.

Isle of white off to visit the red squirrels that (allegedly) live there. I have never seen one, and wonder if they are invented to draw tourists lol.

Down to Southampton for me today, then back up to Redhill, then home. 500ish miles and a pair of site inspections at 3-4 hours each.... bleh!

It feels like. Tesco express as well. I'm used to them opening at 6ish. And in central Southampton as well. Mind boggles.

I need to get some work done, but with the kids home, it borders on impossible. I need to do a report for our major funder. Arrrrgggghhhh!

The roads? no

How on earth do you navigate round there. The road signs direct you to nowhere useful. I spent 45 minutes circling round the general vicinity of Woking trying to find a single signpost for the M25. I had eyes on the carriage way before i saw a damned sign for it!!!

I was, to say the least, a little angry at that point due to that and poor directions in the first place.

Woking *shudder* almost as bad as Reading, it is hellish.
Surrey roads are a joke, the potholes are atrocious, the signs non existant. I invested in a satnav, its the only way!
