The magazine services industry, jointly and severally, the lying, scamming, crooked fucktards, they should all be afflicted with the plagues of Egypt.

Oh, I'm just waiting for this part *wince*

It fricking hurts sooo bad. I cursed ~ a lot. @#%^&*#&@^#*&^#%!!!

People who drive way too slow.

Cyclists who (A) think they're Lance Armstrong, (B) think that just because they wear spandex (which looks like they saran wrapped a raisin) that they can ride in the middle of a busy street.

Hippies that drive a large school bus that hasn't been smogged for thirty years and yell at me for polluting the environment for driving a late model truck.

Middle-management.

People who are overprotective of the girl/boyfriend, but cheat on them constantly.

People who believe they're experts in something when they have absolutely no idea what is going on.

I couldn't agree more!
Things that piss me off usually have to do with people driving. No turn signals, using the phone and driving erratically, people who have no consideration for other drivers - like when I pull to the side to let a larger car pass on a very small road, I am constantly amazed at the fucktards behind me that just pass me and squeeze through. I really am. Can't they wait just a few seconds? I'm trying to be nice here. :catroar:

welcome to lit rb. your name looks familiar but i may not have said hello... with only 5 posts i'm assuming i didn't. in any case, glad you're here.

as a cyclist i have to defend this just a bit. don't take it personally, i know you didn't mean this in a venomous way. i've found that non-cyclists often think that cyclists think they're lance armstrong... not true. lol. at least for me. :D also, as far as i'm concerned, if you ever see me out with spandex on please get a gun and shoot me. :D

there are discorteous cyclists just as there are discorteous motoroists. the laws in your area may allow or prohibit cyclists on a street. around here it's legal for a bicycle to be ridden on any road that has no shoulder and has a posted speed limit of 55 or lower. personally, i always yield to motorists in this situation and won't hold up traffic (that'd just be stupid) but some people will take the letter of the law too far.

My husband has an aunt who's in her early 80's. She thinks that it's okay for her to drive 35 mph on an interstate in which the speed limit is 65, because, after all, she's not going too fast.

What she fails to realize is that there are some situations in which driving well below the speed limit is just as dangerous as speeding. That's why a lot of interstates, particularly around cities, have maximum AND minimum speed limits posted.

Thanks for the heads-up. :catroar:

PTM and Denae,

At the risk of TMI  I happen to know quite a bit about blisters and how to treat them.

Send me a note and I will be happy to tell you how to minimize the pain and speed up the recovery.

you're welcome. i wouldn't shy away from spandex on a fashion level but since i have nothing to really showcase (and since spandex makes things compress even further) i'd be sporting not much more than a camel toe.

Okay, EJ, I have a cycling-related question. If someone is riding in the street, are they obligated to follow the same traffic signals that motor vehicles do? Around here, I have seen so many bicyclists just blow through stop signs. Just wondering...

yes. cyclists have to obey all the motor vehicle regulations and signs. i'm sure this is a universal rule... it certainly is the case here and every other place i've read about or been to.

Good, I feel vindicated. This has been the source of a few "debates" between my husband and me.

That damn pager! Too bad the fall from the dresser didn't kill it.
Sounds like it's time to accidentally leave said pager next to the bathtub in preparation for its next fall.

Outstanding idea. Or my dear spouse needs to find a job that does not require on-call duty.

I'm in favor of death by sledge hammer.

when I anticipate the weekend so much b/c of all the things I want to do, but I get indecisive. I wish I was capable of going w/ the flow of things more. I'm too rigid w/ having to schedule things.

Juist sticking my 2 cents in here...hope ya don't mind.

The rules here in Wisconsin are the same for car and bike! My brother in law is an avid cyclist, and usually travels great distances and also uses his bike daily to get to work and back. He was ina hurry one morning and blew thru a stop sign, was pulled over and TICKETED!! He said he had a momentary lapse of conscience and after what happened, will NEVER disrespect the laws again. Apparently this ticket cost him a pretty high penny!!
