Things that piss you off?

Spoken or written? Surely you can't mean that your students are writing book reports entitled "Are Town: A Play in Three Acts, by Thornton Wilder."

The your, you're, there, their, they're thing irks me as well. Again, if these were esoteric seldom used words, it wouldn't be an issue.

Written. And my student's don't do book reports; they write essays, social commentary, or, if they are in my Writing for Engineers class, proposals, analytical reports, feasibility studies, etc.

But I will get things like, when "are dog got hit by a car" or "we our going".

Sadly, I have found that the more I teach Basic writing the more the their, there mistake rubs off on me. It's rather irritating.

It's not always a "mistake" as such.

I am more and more convinced that Gil has a slight learning disability (probably dyslexia but I know there are heaps of others). He gets "your" and "you're" mixed up the most (there, they're, their not so much). Sometimes words that are spelled right look completely wrong to him, and vice versa.

He went to school in the 50s and 60s when such things weren't commonly known about. Coupled with the fact that he left school in Year 10. I think he does really well under the circumstances. In fact it was one of the things that attracted me to him in the first place - his posts were unique :)

someone mentioned that she was surprised by SJ's av so i had to look.

i think it took a while to get my eyeballs back into my head.

LMAO. Lord. The AV is not me. It's a a 3D model created in Poser Pro with postwork done in Photoshop.

You mean to tell me that you guys can't tell that's not a real woman but that it's a CGI model?

I must admit, I have been looking a lot.

but I did not think it was a self av, thus the part I wrote above about not embarassing myself.

LOL. :)

Scaly.... :rose:  :D

You are too too cute!

And, if it were a self-av, I would gladly admit it. But alas, I'm not quite as slender as that 3-D model.

It's just armbands, to be honest; the model is for a futuristic sort of gal. it was for a ummm...harem like scene...sort of.

i'm having a lot of difficulty lately staying in the moment. that's really pissing me off right now.
