Another thread I like that hasn’t posted in a few weeks: Plus Ultra!
Why aren’t there more superhero sex stories?

Wow didn't think this old thread would get to see the first page again.
I'd like to give some appreciation to TheWorldbuilder, Justspitballing, my good friend Yeishia, and Nouh_Bdee for caring enough to resurrect a thread and premise that deserves more exposure. The internet can be a very lonely and negative place. I encourage everyone to show some love and appreciation to someone else you think is deserving of it.

I love this thread Veroe, It was an honor when I was mentioned by you in the past, I really think it does some good to really build people up. I wish I did more reading myself to be able to highlight more threads I appreciate.
Just out of curiosity, any of you veterans know why rating threads in the SRP forum isn’t an option? Were there some trolls causing problems? Or people just too concerned with the result?
I agree with what you've written here.If there were rating threads in the past it was before my time here. So I'm afraid I don't have an answer for your question, but philosophically I would be against any sort of rating system. I feel rating someone high with something concrete like a rating number or ranking or something would discourage all the people rated lower or not even on the list. And also people get way too obsessed with shit like number of views or rankings or ratings that the writing becomes too much a pursuit of higher ratings rather than exploring and/or expressing one's own sexuality freely in narrative form and a stranger seeing it and accepting it and even thinking its awesome. That's the best way to boost someone's spirits IMHO.

I agree with what you've written here.
I have seen threads with votes here though the one I can bring to mind is in the lounge. I've never tried to rate an SRP thread. I've only seen any thread on lit have votes a few times.
So I do agree with you on why I'd be against them too, that being said I am such a view whore, I'll admit it. I love when I have stories that get lots of views, and am curious sometimes why some get more than others. And have to work not to be irritated when threads that I feel don't have as good of writing get crazy amounts of views, but that's just me. I am happier when I can let go of that last part, but one of my threads having such a high viewership earlier this year was the thing that kept me writing, so it's not all bad.
What can I say? I used to have a job which required searching for tiny nuggets of data in a mass of background, so when JSB asked about creating a thread and Yeishia and Nouh Bdee said it already existed: I went to look.
all very true. Though some other threads with little plot get lots of views. It is difficult to predict what people will love, though when you get one of those threads that readers adore it can be magical, to me at least. On number of views I think its mostly a popularity thing like I check out any thread Luciandevine does or if SweetP4U or Ladythunder or Pywakit were still on Lit and doing threads I'd check it out just based on how much I've liked their work in the past regardless of what this current thread is.
Also you need to factor in how clear and concise your premise is from the first post on. If it meanders before getting good or if the readers feel you and your partner are just spinning their wheels but not taking the story anywhere or not taking it to logically interesting places people who check it out on the first post won't be likely to come back to check out what happens in the next posting thus keeping viewcounts lower than other threads.
Also threads where the action is happening and not just in terms of fighting or fucking but in plot and character developments, the twists help propel higher viewcounts. So some threads with action and eventful plots straight from the first post or some threads where you and your cowriter have really good chemistry from post to post will do better than others too.
There's a lot of factors involved.
An interesting concept. I don't know that it would be out of place to post old threads here, it doesn't say current threads in the title, but might want to let people know in your post that it's an ancient thread. However, might wanna run that by Veroe. You guys are making me wish I had found this place more than a month ago.
So if this thread is for current threads and writers that deserve a shout out, is there a more curated list of links to the All-Time Great threads like you're describing? Should we start one? Maybe with categories/tags so people know if it's their thing?
Wow. Here's a thread I haven't seen in a very long time.
Ah I would so love a tagging system of some sort so I could find what threads would suit my fancy easier. They had that on some kink meme websites I belonged to, characters, relationships, kinks. So, for example, you could pick: Tifa, m/f, spanking, oral, bondage, etc. Of course, that would take a heck of a lot to set up probably but I can dream lol
In regards to view count, I try not to get too hung up on it. You gotta remember someone might just click a thread because the title sounds intriguing, but then not necessarily stick around to read the whole thing. But yeah, have been guilty of watching my view counts too ;P
Anyway, to stay on topic, I've been reading Wicked Tales of the Antebellum South. It feels so wrong on so many levels but I can't help but find it intriguing.
BritWitch was also amazing.
