It seems to me this thread was started by someone who was looking for an editor, but was peeved by the editing that he got. Boo-fucking-hoo. Next time, be more specific about what kind of feedback you're looking for.

Now, I guess having said that I can take a moment to whore out some of my own work... LOL

I'm not looking so much for an editor for upcoming work (at least not at the moment) but I would love to hear some feedback on the stories I've already published. Good or bad, all constructive criticism is welcomed.

For licks you need to submit an application stating in 100 words or less why you think you're deserving of licks, where you would like them applied, how many times at each places; the names, phone number, SSN and credit card number of 3 relatives, a priest and/or minister and the name of your dog.

Send that application in triplicate to the right department and you should receive an answer within 18 months.

OR...if you're in a rush and cannot wait that long, say three more nice things about me and we'll see what I can do.

Sorry to contradict you DJ but this thread was started by someone who didn't like that his editor was right and he was wrong. Apparently there is a human sub-species who cannot handle to not be right and know everything all the time and this 'person' belongs in that category.

I'll try to take a moment and look at your work. Can't promise anything as I'm swamped but I'll do my best.

Thank you... in the meantime I just read 'Pop Goes The Weasel' and some of the comments on it. It was a great opening, leaving an avenue for different directions to take the story in. I honestly wish that the category 'Loving Wives' was named differently though, perhaps just 'Spouses' instead of using the word 'Wives.' Occasionally you do get a story about a cheating husband, and I personally enjoy reading those just as much as any other genre.

Veering back to your work, though, I hope to see a continuation soon. Keep up the good work!

I think while 'asshat' might have expressed his/her point in an unfriendly manner it does not take away from the validity of the underlying issue.

Working with an editor requires open communication about what you want.

It's not an easy relationship, after all you're handing over your creation to someone else and saying 'Make it better.'

We have egos... a part of us can't really believe someone else COULD make it better.

It takes a while to get used to it; there are times (like with me) that it takes going through a few people before you find one you mesh with well.
