Too nasty an ending or just sloppy writing?

I'm curious to know what would alter your perception of the genre, or do you regard it as a lost cause?

I don't regard the genre as a lost cause. There have been some great stories written in Erotic Horror, one of the best was "Pumpkin Eater" by Selena_Kitt.

I'll point out that an American convention is to put a period after "Mr."

And that silly convention has taken over in Canada as well. The period after Mr serves no function other than to be consistent with the style of all abbreviations. American usage does not distinguish between an abbreviation and a contraction (an abbreviation that contains the final letter of the complete word). In British usage, abbreviations take a period but contractions don't.

What is really ridiculous, though, but seems to be taking over, is the practice of putting a period after Ms. We all know that Mister is written Mr. and Misses or Mistress is shortened to Mrs. What exactly is Ms short for? The answer is nothing. It is not shortened but is the entire word that is used to formally address a woman without indicating her marital status as would be the case when using Miss or Mrs. A period after Ms is annoyingly sloppy. A period after Mr is annoyingly pedantic.;)
