Trump gains MAJOR election advantage in Arizona, as Maricopa County caves in

Well, the feeling is mutual about the need to educate yourself. Maybe branch out from CNN and MSNBC a bit.
Yeah yeah, that’s the typical thing to say. You’d be surprised the sources I check.

Just a thought. It's a convenient belief that you have, but so be it. Most beliefs are convenient. I maintain that you're being hopelessly naïve about the dangers of the political, economic, and social elites and the way that they are doing real harm to constitutionality, the rule of law, personal freedom, the balance of power, etc.
Your argument seems to be that they’re all the same. Perhaps a secret cabal, even. I’d be happy to read what your sources are.

You're also naïve about the unsustainable nature of this present political framework and this civilization. It won't last because it's beyond redemption and these are the very people tearing it down.
I suppose all civilizations may fall at some point, but feel free to elaborate. On the other hand yes, our republic is fragile and under extreme pressure at this moment in time.

The fact that they were fine with Trump until not that long ago and he basically became their enemy only once he ran for office, well, that's very telling.
Say what? Are you claiming democrats were fine with trump until he ran for office? Do you know trump’s history beyond The Apprentice?

I give it, max, six years, before civilization shatters entirely.
I’ll provide a link to my survivalist site. Nobody beats my prices. And I mean nooobody!

That being said, Trump's no friend of mine and no hero of mine. I never voted for him in the past and all of my financial donations have been to Democratic candidates, both in 2016 and in 2020. I voted for the Democratic nominee in both election cycles, despite extreme reservations about both Hillary and Biden (especially about Harris, to be frank). I also donated to Democrats in the 2018 mid-terms and voted for the Democratic nominees for Governor and the Senate, and further down the ballot, I might add. I formally left the Democratic Party in the spring of 2020 in disgust, but as stated, I voted for Biden later in the fall. I voted for Tulsi Gabbard in the primaries in that year, though I originally backed Mike Gravel (he dropped out and endorsed both her and Bernie).

I've been an independent ever since. I didn't vote in 2022 due to red tape and complications of my cross-country move (or half-country, given that it was from Arizona to Texas).
You keep saying that but somehow always sound more like a MAGAt.

I am weighing the positives and negatives, and yes, this is an agonizing decision for me. I actively despise both Harris and Trump, as individuals (I think that he's a bully, a crook, and an opportunistic demagogue, and that she's a corrupt, easily manipulated, and servile, albeit functioning alcoholic) as well as mistrust both parties intensely by now. As Jay Leno once stated, "Every time I think that I'm a Republican, they do something greedy, and every time I think that I'm a Democrat, they do something stupid." Or as Lewis Black put it, "the Republicans are a party of bad ideas and the Democrats are a party of no ideas."
You’re looking at surface issues. Well, also maybe a manipulated video to make Harris sound tipsy, unless you have reputable sources.. They did the video thing with Pelosi at one point. I read your take on Harris as CA AG. I guess you’ll have to decide on the lessor of two evils. Choose wisely.

Ironically, Republicans will say, "both sides arguments help Democrats," and Democrats say the same thing about Republicans. That is very instructive to me. It tells me that neither camp is all that confident of victory. Time to head desk here.
Nobody should be confident of a win. Get out and stump and vote.

If I still drank, I'd get plastered at seeing what a train wreck awaits my country, no matter what happens in November. Fuck my luck. I hate what has happened to America. It wasn't perfect before, but now the body politic is off its rocker. We've lost our ever-loving minds.
I think our county will settle down if Harris wins and trump is out of the picture. She’s not the wild radical the right paints her as. Read her policies. Doesn’t mean folk don’t change thoughts when realities hit, but still. If Harris wins Republicans can breathe a sigh of relief, regroup, get back to simply being obstructionists and lay off of the extreme fear mongering in favor of the usual rhetoric.

Well, we both think that each other are looking at things superficially. What a nice pickle! I don't know of any Democrats who had any major issues with Trump prior to him running for public office. Hell, he was a Manhattan liberal Democrat himself for years, pro-choice, anti-gun, etc. Just saying. As to how I sound to you, well, that's not a me problem, just saying....your party is in bad need for self-reflection, win or lose. Your image is badly tarnished, your brand in tatters. On the other hand, at least you don't have the issues that the GOP will have in rebuilding itself once Trump is done, whenever that happens to be. It will be like 2012, but a a lot worse. He's led them to two defeats (2018, 2020), one draw (2022), and one rather narrow win (2016). For which, they've managed to make themselves synonymous with screaming fanatics to much of the country and the world.

Anyway, it's been a nice chat, but I have other fish to fry (maybe literally, depending on what I choose to eat). At least I was able to hand the granddaughters over to their mama and let her handle the rest. I got a phone call to make, anyway. Auf wiedersehn.

Ha, I say you more so than I when it comes to trump.

Why would they? But yes he flip flopped and tantrumed to go independent if he wasn’t chosen by repubs.

Grandkids are the best. Sleep well.

I don't recall anyone voting for Harris to be the nominee, but say whatever you want. The truth is that, if the Democrats want to run their party like a private club, they need to start funding their own primaries and caucuses themselves. Ditto the GOP, I might add. Trump did something similar in 2020, undermining his opponents as well. Nobody has clean hands. Yes, I'm aware that this is how politics operates. I'm a history buff and probably know a lot more about historical elections that you do.
You sure enjoy moving the goal posts, you've gone from fraud in the 2020 Presidential election to claiming you're a history buff. Again, show me the statute, law or point to the section in the constitution that states the Democratic party illegally elected Harris as the Democratic Party Presidential candidate. if you can't then shut the fuck up.
I'm really just an idiot, or a troll....
*chuckles*

PS I'm a Canadian and I am 100% sure I know a whole lot more about your election laws than you!

Okay, you're delusional. I gotcha. I don't have time for your mind-numbing idiocy. Iggy time.

awww, you can't show the statute, or law, or in the Constitution where the rules that the mean old Democratic party broke are. So instead you're picking up your ball and going home to mommy, whining how mean people are to you....

I've heard iggy only works when you tell people...which means fuck all to me.

lol, your post's have been a fun read.

You claimed voter fraud in the Presidential Election, and when asked for proof, pivot to Primaries....before you spout off your mouth on Primary fraud, you need to read this...

https://www.usa.gov/primaries-caucuses

Now, I've no dog to fight in your politics, you (currently) live in a free country and you're allowed to vote for whatever idiot(s) you choose to.
That said, what the Democrats did to pick their candidate for President, is their choice. They like you, can do whatever the fuck they want, those are the rules. Disagree? Well go get me the statute, or law, or point out where in your constitution it says otherwise.

To me, you're just whining about Biden not getting the nod, which points to sour grapes over a candidate that A: might beat Trump, B:is a woman, and C: is of mixed race.

Lol, I keep saying this dude “SevMax2” is just trolling. There isnt jack shit on Harris that is nearly as bad as Trump, but he pretends there is.

The dude is just a depressed troll who wants to drain your energy.

Here’s my $.10 (adjusted for inflation) though no one has asked.
This election cycle has been a piss cutter. My crystal ball is fogged up at the moment. So much is in flux.

Barack Obama and Tyler Perry were in Atlanta, applying napalm to Orange Julius.
He was in Nevada stream of consciousness freeballing whatever came to mind. His audience was eating it up.
I’ve got to hand it to the fossil. He has the stamina of a stud Shetland pony, though he is the worse for wear. The bags under his eyes could hold a designer’s entire winter collection. He looks like he has pinkeye.
His noodle may be flagging, but his rhetoric has not. The ‘enemy from within’ rhetoric is really disturbing,
Maria Bartilomo scarfed it down like an oyster on the half-shell.

Fox Live Now reported that a story leaked about communication between Putin and Elon Musk. How he had requested Musk to delay access to Starlink for Taiwan and that Musk complied. So much for Mr. Blue Sky free speech for everyone if preliminary reports are true.

To top off my week, I engaged with a nightmare on X. I made the flippant comment that these fools with the 2A right to bear assault rifles would regret the day they brought an AR-15 to a drone fight.
This dude replied they were working on that. His profile pic was a greasy, snarling possum.

We chatted for a while. He maintained his crew was combat ready, undeterred by law enforcement.
He seemed knowledgeable and quite sincere.

We discussed my experience with the ATF. How I had inquired about buying a class III firearm from a licensed dealer and receiving a cold call from an agent an hour later, with specific details concerning my personal identity, location, history and questions regarding my need for a destructive device.

He seemed to relax a bit when I explained I was a hunter. It was to keep bears out of camp.

Greasy possum and I continued our chat.

I told him I thought if he was a true patriot, he would make an honest effort to curb gun violence, school shootings and random acts of mayhem. He wanted to know how. I told him I kept an eye out for loose screws whenever I visited gun dealers, pawn shops and arms shows. If anyone could spot an unstable element it would probably be him.

His next line of questions was what I thought he should do when he found someone.

He wanted specifics. By the time we parted company, I was all but convinced he was an undercover agent,

trolling for the next Randy Weaver.

Oh yeah. He was familiar with him too.

He doesn’t keep me awake at night, though I do keep one eye open.

Speaking of "election law" did you read about the turmoil in Georgia today?

Georgia audit finds just 20 noncitizens among 8.2 million registered voters
The findings undermine Trump’s noncitizen voting claims, which he has parroted as he primes his supporters to reject his potential election defeat.

p.s. I didn't know you were Canadian! Do you live less than 50km from the US border like 85% of your fellow Canadians?

It’s 85% within 150 Miles, not 50km (30 miles)

Doesnt change the fact that Canadians know much much more about American issues than many Americans.

That comment is disheartening and smacks of truism. I’d like to think not.
Personally I like Canadians in general, Canadiennes in particular. They know how to keep a fella warm.
