Wat went downtown. To Shitty Hall. To the Bureau of Code Enforcement. Sounds menacing, doesn't it? Anyway, long story short, it seems that we need a building permit for our temporary office trailer. Which we have to call a "construction trailer" so as not to be affected by ADA requirements and have to build a ramp.
Total cost: $40.80. Total time wasted: irreclaimable.
Haven't done one of those roasted chickens in awhile. I was sent home Thursday with a tenant-prepared chicken leg quarter. I cut it up and fed the cats.
Happy Saturday!!! Up too early. It happens. Feel like I didn't sleep enough, but it's the weekend and naps are quite possible. There's breakfast with Dr. Mom this morning. Her computer guy is coming over after that. And I'm taking my bike back to the bike shop to talk to the Head Wrench/Big-Bossman to see when we can get it in and to discuss putting a cam in it at some point sooner, and to see if'n he has a fix for the dented tank atrocity. I'd still like to get the thing painted this year
I'm not a fan of eating food prepared by an unknown entity. I realize that sometimes you have to be polite and accept it when offered, but it might not make it into the house. But, there are times when you're asked to share a meal with people in a remote place, and there is no polite way to get out of it. Not accepting the invitation would be a sign of disrespect. Then, eat just a little, no matter how hungry you might be.
The house around the corner used to be occupied by a guy who painted motorsickles. His pronunciation, not mine. I know he made gas tanks, too. Never saw him welding, but he had an English wheel. Of course, I didn't keep good track of him. People sought him out and he was always busy. Then, when his wife got bad sick, they moved to California for better weather.
Like the story I saw somewhere once upon a time about the body mechanics for some Eye-tal-yun sports cars company and how they'd take a piece of sheet metal and lay it over their anvil and commence to beat a fender out of it. That's a skill where I have about zero idea where to start.
The good doctor is fed. The chore she had for me to do is done. I napped a bit. Now it's time to hit the task list here.
The grass got cut, the seedlings and seeds are in the ground, the flower beds are prepped for marigolds and calendulas later this week and I cleaned up around the rose and peony bushes before doing a fence check. Then I went and inspected the boat house and tomorrow we'll drop the boat in the water. I won't be going out tomorrow, I'm already the colour of a candy apple so I plan to stick to the shade until I look less like a glow stick.
Happy Sunday!!! Slept pretty well. It's quiet around here this morning. Indoor cats are fed. List is getting made for the early morning shooping run. Chores are fixin' to get piddled with so as to get some shit done around here. Likely improvements, nothing major.
The kitten managed to tear an old poster I've had for decades. Little bitch likes to scale things. Anyway, I reckon that I shall tape it back together and put it somewhere less interesting to Little Missie.
The kitten rushed the front door and eluded the human. She came almost nose to nose with the front porch cat. Nary hiss was heard, the kitten was captured and tossed back inside, and front porch kitteh got breakfast. Adventures with kittehs.
Got what I needed to do.
Stayed covered so my red is turning peeling.
Doing burgers and salad for dinner.
Quiet but fruitful day and no dreams were created of damaged in the process of it.
