Happy Monday!!! Woke up at 3:10 (no, not to Yuma) and didn't doze back off. I kinda hate when that happens. The cats go back to sleep just fine. Doesn't that just figure?
More wire butchers today. Also, gotta make a plan to take to the city to get the permit for the trailer. At this rate, I should get electricity in time to run the heat after it gets cold. It's not that bad, but it's getting to be pretty damned silly.
Had the annual Jarhead Golf Tournament on Saturday. Team Savage Enterprises Worldwide tied for 10th (out of 92 foursomes) with a respectable 3 under (gross). Had to take shelter for about a half hour down pour - first rain in two weeks.
Yesterday I smoked five racks of ribs. They weren't my best work, but ok. I had an issue with my air flow. If my welding skills fail me later this week, I may be in the market for a new smoker.
Shipping date for my eBike is all over the place. I think the CCP is messing with me. At least that's the current line that seems to be popular.
My agent called Friday night, I soon own another building and a big ass lot of weeds. I lowballed the offer because I was of mixed feelings and have cash but they are motivated to sell and accepted. They also asked for a quick turnover so I got the lawyer doing the check for liens and other crap, he'll have it done in a couple of days so it looks like Friday we can sign and get the keys.
Congratulations on both the golf score and the building score. I'm always delighted to be surrounded by successful people in Our Little Thread
That damned kitten. She's as cute and as active-brained a cat as I think I've ever known. Into everything. Worries the crap out of the other two cats constantly. Follows her human like a little dog and is forever getting into whatever he's into - except reading. Yesterday when I went to feed the front porch cat, she decided to rush the front door to go meet the kitteh. This morning, she was in the front window beating on the glass at her/him - still not sure. She rushed the door again. Fortunately, cats run about 3 feet past a door they don't know and then stop, so she's easy to catch. As I was putting my stuff out on the porch to load the truck to leave, she made for the door again. Instead of putting stuff out two hands at a time, I had to put it out one hand at a time because the other one was full of kitten.
Got through the weekly progress meeting. There was a load of nattering about residents from the property management folks. We in renovation don't care - not much, anyway. Hell, it could have been worserer.
Happy Tuesday!!! Slept okay, but woke up too early - again. Meh. Looks to be both warmer and weaselier today. And property management should be on-site today, too.
I grew up on the border, radio and tv all came from Detroit, I don't do Celsius.
My niece was evacuated recently when one of the fires came to close, the company paid for a nice hotel and gave her a decent expenditure, she said it was a great paid vacation.
Since the new building was identical to the two I got, I'm already drawing up plans. The contractor was working on building two this morning getting another unit done and he's more than happy to start whatever once the ink dries and we get the supplies we need. Since building two has bigger units I'll convert number three into small and medium ones to rent out. I'm also going to petition the city to take over the road to the intersection, then I can repair it properly. I don't know what I'm going to do with the weed garden. It was a package deal and for now, I'll get it mowed.
Now that I'm caught up, there was coffee, work is going well, Marriott is run by idiots, and it's going to be hamburgers and salad for dinner. All is going well.
A plumbing supply company that can remained unnamed sent out 3 pallets of stuff yesterday. Their guys got it into the Connex. No-Touch freight for Wat. Got another call from them yesterday that 3 more pallets were to arrive today. It turned out to be 3 trucks and 22 pallets. I had one helper - my demo guy. We got 16 pallets of stuff put away. The 6 that are still out are fiberglass shower bottoms and wall-mount lavatories. I think that they'll be safe overnight. Demo Dude has two helpers arriving in the morning, so we'll put them away then.
That shot the afternoon in the head. And I have to get after my paperwork due today here in a few minutes.
This is the kind of chaos we'd have routinely at the other company. Without being the other company. If this is as bad as it gets, we'll be fine.
